Happy Halloween Card

 Hello Friends!

I was inspired by two challenges to make this card. The first is The Funkie Junkie Challenge: Stamped with Love using Tim Holtz stamps. The second is make your own background by Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Here's my card:

Here's a close up of most of the detail.

The background is CMS414 Tapestry-I used villianous potion embossing glaze and distress ink.

The skeleton is from CMS437 Halloween Doodles.

CMS237 Crazy Things-Balloons (which I masked to get them together), hat, bow tie (colored with villianous potion embossing glaze), and pumpkin trick or treat container. I used copics and prismacolor markers for these things.

CMS236 Crazy Talk is the sentiment (and my favorite sentiment stamp of all time.)

Some twine and pop dots were used for the balloons.

I am probably going to make this background again. There is something about the shine of the glaze that is just so pretty. :)

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Reversed Stenciling Card

 Hello Everybody!

I was watching youtube and ran across this Gina K. video on reverse stenciling-and I had to try it!

First-here's the card. And then scroll on down and I will tell you more :)

So I made this card-after watching a Gina K YouTube about reverse stenciling.  I applied these oxide inks to a 5 by 3.5 inch white cardstock panel. (colors salvaged patina, kitsch flamingo, twisted citron)

Not pictured is I put the stencil from the crafters workshop down and taped it. And then I used memento black tuxedo ink through the stencil. And the lines are the colors instead of vice versa. So cool :)

And then I inked some more cardstock and cut out flowers using the Tim Holtz die small tattered florals (661806). I stacked them and put a little gem in the middle of each.

The sentiment is an oldie but goodie from Sizzix and I stamped the sentiment and banner and then die cut out the banner. And then I arranged the pieces.

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Unicorn Birthday Card

 Hello Everybody!

I made a birthday card for my niece. I cut out a unicorn from my Silhouette Cameo and painted it with Anthropology Art purple glittery paint.

I bought a paper pad of Holographic paper from DCWV from Joann's last month. It's one of those things that I could save forever because the paper is so cool. But I am trying to turn over a new leaf and use up my stuff.

No more FORO-fear of running out LOL.  So that cool paper is the background and then I used a cuttlebug heart embossing folder for the white panel. I took a silver marker and outlined the white panel before I glued it on. I am really liking that look whether it is gold or silver. I feel like the marker outline helps make it look finished. The sentiment is an old one from Tim Holtz and I used a purple marker to make it pop. This is my favorite birthday sentiment. It's just an easy sentiment to use I guess. :)

I am submitting this into the challenge at Seize the Birthday-#230 Anything goes Topping-embossing. (Heart embossing folder by Cuttlebug.)

Thank you for stopping by! :)

New November Color!

Hello Everybody!

November 1st means it's time for a new challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge. This month we are all about the color Sage.

This was a hard color for me. I think it is beautiful but not a color I use a lot. I was lucky that I had some paper in sage.  So here's my card:

I used clear embossing powder and a handwritten stamp from Stampin Up for the back panel. For the middle panel I used clear embossing paste with an older Tim Holtz stencil. The dragonfly is a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die. I just love this dragonfly! And the sentiment is a Queen and Company die cut.

Be sure to check out the cards made by the team. They did a beautiful job using the color Sage.

Until next time my friends! :)

October over at the Rainbow Challenge

 Hello Everybody!

You know it's a new month and that means a new color challenge over at the Rainbow Card Challenge! This month we are all about the color Golden Rod which is a nice rich color.

I used a couple of color to achieve goldenrod in my card background.  I used distress oxide fossilized amber and a little distress ink wild honey and some oxide pumpkin.

I used a Tim Holtz stamp-this is one of my favorites. Around the edges I used distress oxide walnut stain and sprinkle little water droplets here and there for the oxide effect.

The sentiment is Tim's and usually stamps together but I cut them apart thinking I was going to stack the words. But turns out I liked it better this way so lol you know. And Tim's flowers are in the corner and I sprayed them with the seasonal broomstick mica spray. So nice! Also I used Ranger gold embossing powder and this was the first time I used it. And I love it! It's a nice bright gold.

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to check out everyone's goldenrod card. And we can't wait to see what you make! :)

Beware Vignette Box

 Hello Friends!

I made this creepy vignette box, and I am so excited to share it with you!

This is the largest of the Tim Holtz Vignette Boxes. And this is a box topper that was sold in 2018. (Thankful for YouTube because I couldn't remember when I bought the covers.) After I decorated the inside I glued the panels down with collage medium.

From the top: I made this candles using Tim's directions from last year. And I painted them black. The skull is Ideology a few years ago. That is cheese cloth that I sprayed with black soot distress stain, hickory smoke oxide spray, and empty tomb mica spray. In between the candles and skull I added Tim's midnight mica flakes. Originally, I was thinking mirco beads and then I was like I have something cooler than that! :)

This is a Tim Holtz ghost die cut that I inked with a little peeled paint around the edges.

The background paper is from Tim's Region Beyond paper pack. I stamped bats on the this side of it. But the bats are actually from one of Tim's embossing folder. I used a Simon Hurley Stamp block-heated it and then took the impression of the embossing folder. So Cool!

On the inside sides of the box I applied Crypt grit paste. On this side is a die cut spider (the one from just the web and spider-Tim Holtz). I used some stickles to try to make it stand out a little. So it's just kind of creeping around back there LOL.

Here is the other side with the crypt paste.

These flowers are from Funky Nature. I used some black soot distress ink on the yellow blooms to make them less bright and more spooky. The Paper Doll's dress is from a spiced marmalade distress crayon and a little water.  The candle die cut is from Tim's Frightful Things.

There is also a Halloween Quote Chip and 2 hardware heads. The rust is from Finnabair.

So this is cool.  Here is the finished box.

If you look you can see the paper doll's shadow. This is cool because it's like the candle is really working to create a shadow behind her. Eek!

I am submitting this into the following challenge:

TFJB Challenge: Creating Die-Na-Mite-use dies--Spider, Ghost, candlestick, and flowers

Thank you for stopping by today! :)

Rainbows at the Rainbow Challenge

 Hello Everybody!

Happy June! New month new challenge!

This month at The Rainbow Card Challenge we are all about Rainbows!

I made a thank you card for a science teacher.

I used my silhouette machine for the beakers and liquid. I had a stencil and fine silver marker pen that I used for the circles above the red and green liquid beakers. The sentiment was a free stamp from Taylored Expressions. The background was a pattern paper I found in my stash. :)

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will go check out what my teammates have created. And I hope you are inspired to join us this month!

Pretty Yellow Daffodil!

 Hello Friends!

Happy New Month to You! We have a new challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge. This month we are all about Daffodil. :) Check out this inspiring color board!

So this is what I did for Daffodil:

I used a dylusional stencil and art anthology yellow glitter dimensional paint to create the background. I made the pineapple using my silhouette machine. I used a little rustic wilderness distress oxide on the pinepple leaf. And the sentiment is a free stamp from a purchase from Taylored Expressions. I used mulberry paper behind the pineapple and pop dots. I stamped on the mulberry paper also and added some sweet little flowers from Paper Studio (hobby lobby).

Here is an angled look at the card. This way you can see the dimension and glittery goodness of the background.

I hope you are inspired to get out all things yellow and make a fabulous card and link it to the Rainbow Card Challenge. We would love to see you!

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Viking Happy Birthday

 Hello Friends!

This is a Happy Birthday Card I made for my dad. I love this little Viking Guy and it has taken me a few tries to color him and be happy with it.

I used a gelli plate and a page from a book for the background. I also used a little walnut distress ink around the edges. I used prisma color markers to color the image. The Viking is from My Favorite Things Stamps. The happy is a Tim Holtz die. And the sentiment under it is a Taylored Expressions stamp and die cut.

I stamped on the inside-which I don't often do but how could I not--this clever little sentiment had to go somewhere! :)

I am submitting this card into the following challenges:

March Challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge!

 Hello Everybody!

New month new challenge! This month we are all about Jade at the Rainbow Card Challenge!

This is my card.

I made a galaxy background using lucky clover, rustic wilderness, and wilted violet distress oxides.  I watered down some white paint and made the dots in the background. The stamps are from Lawn Fawn-they have 2 space sets and these are from both sets. I used my prismacolor markers to color the aliens and their ships and the planet in the background. The ground is a paper I covered with lucky clover and rustic wilderness distress oxides. And the sequin stars are from Queen and Company.

This mood board is so awesome! I hope you are inspired and play along with us! :)

Happy Valentine's Day! 3 of 3

 Hello Friends!

This is my last card to share for Valentine's Day. These 14 days have gone by so fast!

For this card I used a Cricut Cuttlebug embossing folder. The stamped image is a Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous stamp. But the special thing about it is that the image is foiled. :)

I finally was able to get the liquid minc toner. And so I used a pink foil on it. I love the liquid stuff. I feel like there is so much you can do with it. I am just getting started! :)

Here's a closeup. I edged the pink with a wilted violet distress oxide.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Valentine's Day! :)

Happy Valentine's Day! 2 of 3

 Hello Friends!

Here is the last frame I made out of the six. It's for my nephew who likes Stem.

I gessoed the wooden frame first. And when I painted it with paint I could see areas that didn't get paint. So I left it like that-you can see the white peaking through. I feel like it adds personality to the frame. I used a Tim Holtz stencil for that computer board looking lines and Finnabair gold wax. Then I added clay stars and used vintage gold Finnabair wax on them. I glued little metal gears to the others side and a clay heart with wax on it. I stamped the atom and the carbons at the top using Close to My Heart stamps and Ranger Archival ink. Those stamps go with a chemistry stamp set-so cute! I got it a few years ago.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope your day is awesome! :)

Owl Valentine

 Hello Friends!

Welcome to Day 8 of my 14 Days of Valentine Craftiness. :)

Here is a Valentine card made from cute owl stamps from Aall & Create. My husband gave me these stamp at Christmas and I thought how cute would they be for Valentine's! :)

I colored the owls with prismacolor markers. And then I fussy cut them out.  I also have this new circle masking stencil from Taylored Expressions. I taped down my paper, the circle masking stencil and then laid a paige evans heart stencil over that. I just wanted to see if it would look good. I used spun sugar distress ink. And ta da! Not too bad!

The heart with the arrow is a Silhouette stamp and cut. And the sentiment is a sticker from Simple Stories.

Thank you so much for stopping by! :)

One More Heart Swing Card

 Hi Friends!

I have one more Heart Swing Card for right now. There were 5 altogether but I have other things I have made and want to change it up a little for tomorrow :)  But more about today :)

If you would like to see more Heart Swing Cards go here and here.

So for swing heart card number 3 I used Crate paper but different than the first two. And the heart paper here was in my stash, and I don't know the brand on it. The flowers and the vintage girl are K & Company. I put some mulberry paper behind the girl to soften the background.

And here is the card are you open it-the other side of the heart. The little hearts in the spine of the card are some that I have had for awhile. And I made the other little hearts. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz sentiment.

Here's the card standing. It's pretty cool how there are two sides to the heart.

And here's the card standing in display mode LOL. You could face the card either way. :)

Thank you for stopping by! I need to work on getting these Valentine's in the mail! :)

Gifted Background Didn't Forget Birthday Card

 Hello Everybody!

I am not lying when I say I am obsessed with this stamp and stencil set. I made a few of these backgrounds using distress oxide and one distress ink. They rest is Taylored Expression. (except that paper that's either Michaels or Stampin Up. And the black ink is Memento.)

I used these Taylored Expresson stamp strips and their corresponding die.  For the background of the sentiment strips even though you can get a die for that-I don't have that so I cut some black cardstock around the strips to make them pop out a little more.

For the inside I had a not great stamp imprint of the presents but I went ahead and inked them and cut them out.  I used 3 on the side to decorate the inside a little bit.

Here are my colors.

Thank you for stopping by!

Rainbow Card Challenge January!

 Happy New Year Friends!

Welcome 2021! Does it feel different yet? LOL.

It's a new challenge over at the Rainbow Card Challenge. This month it's neutrals, and I hope you will join us!

First let me say I love neutrals! I love brown and black and grey. So I was overwhelmed because I really wanted to make a cool card.  So I looked at my pinterest board and found this card by Stacy at the Tattered Nest. (Go there after you see my card LOL).

So the technique for the background really inspired me and I will describe that some below. I used all Tim Holtz products for this card. :)

Here is the embossing folder and I stamped a tim holtz stamp in black soot on the flat part of the embossing folder (like Stacy explains to do). The stamp is the reversible one for a while back. I haven't used it in a long time so I was glad for the opportunity! I also sprayed the paper with water -and I used watercolor paper. Then I applied walnut ink and pumice stone with the foam applicators.

She shows using distress crayons also-so I used the vintage photo on the raised parts.  Tarnished brass is awesome in that it gives this delicate sparkle so I put that all over LOL.

I put a blend of pumice stone and walnut ink on regular paper and stamped the guys on it (also a Tim Holtz stamp) using ranger jet black archival ink. I took a water brush and outlined around them so I could tear the paper and you can see where the water reacted with the ink. I tore the paper along the water line so it would have a soft border and not a hard border like if I used scissors.

The sentiment is from one of my all time favorite sentiment stamp set which is also Tim. I love the writing.  Then I inked the edges of the card with black soot distress ink.

I hope you will join us for our Neutral challenge! We can't wait to see what you make!

Until next time my friends...stay crafty!

Distress Ink-Squeezed Lemonade
Hero Arts stamp and sentiment from 2013
Stickles for his scarf and band on hat
Random star jewels
Prisma Color Markers

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you join this colorful Christmas challenge!
Until next time my friends-always be crafting! :)

Happy Birthday Cow Card

 Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing with you a card I made for a friend of mine for her birthday.  She has cows and I always hope she likes the cows because I like making cow cards for her. LOL.

This cow is a digital file from the Silhouette Store.  It had other flowers with the original file but they didn't cut well for me. (Who knows-my blade could be sort of dull.  I will say it's user error.  LOL) So I used some little flowers from a Tim Holtz die cut set.  They remind me of little sunflowers here.  I used distress oxide to color them. The paper was in my stash.  And the sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp.

Here's a close up.

I am submitting this card into the following challenges:

Crafter's Castle #34 Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time my friends!

Edited: Happy Day! I won the Watercooler Rock Star this week! Thank you :)
