My Love for Finnabair

 Hello Everybody!

This is an origin story-LOL. I was going through my pictures-and I realized that this is a project that I haven't posted anywhere. Not on my blog or Insta or FB. And I don't know how it happened but it's important for me to post it.  Wait--I made this project in January 2020 (I checked the date on the unedited pictures.)   LOL then things got busy and then there was a pandemic.

It really did start my love for Finnabair moulds and waxes. So I was watching YouTube and watched Ann from Finnabair do an altered tin project. You can see it here. I was really inspired and thought-hey I can do that.

Some how I had started making a few moulds. I had faces from sculpey.

So I got a mint tin. (Look there's two-but still to this day one still is in it's original state lol.)

I painted the whole thing in black gesso. I followed the video with what supplies I had.

I made this using a Tim Holtz sticker word. Maybe I had the Melange art pebbles already? I don't know but I was excited when she show how to make this. I adhered fine glitter behind the word.

Here is the bottom part started. There is the sculpey face and some little bit I put in the tin. That is silver paint not wax on the moon face.

Painted black gesso over everything that I knew would be permanent.

Here's the front of the tin.

Here it is now. This is some sort of mesh  that I adhered to the front of the tin.

I had a Finnabair paint-one of the opal magic. I painted blue first and then highlighted with the opal magic paint. There's my create art pebble.  I also started to add some fun glitter.

Now here is the front. It's possible I had a silver wax but I kind of think that was silver paint at the time.

And here is the inside. I also added some silver star sequins.  And I have loved Finnabair ever since. :)

Thank you for stopping by!

California Slider Card

 Hello Everybody!

I made this card for some friends moving to California.  I realized that I filmed it since it was a slider card but I didn't take regular pictures of it.  LOL.  So I took a picture during the video.

This is the first slider card I have made.  I used my silhouette machine to make the little RV and slider and the state of California.  I used gold glitter paper for Cali since it's the Golden State.  I used map paper for the background.  The Bon Voyage is a Stampers Anonymous Brett Weldele stamp.

Here is the video:

Bye Bye Friends! :)

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time my friends...safe travels! :)

**Edited This card won a Princess award. :)

Cards from June

Hello Friends!

How is everyone today?  I got my swifter out and dusted this blog off.  It's been a little while.  I don't know what happened in the summer and then once October hits--well it's all a blur until after Christmas.  LOL

I have been crafty although I haven't documented it very well here on my blog.   I have my Instagram account and that is where I have been sharing the things I have made.   So I am going to get caught up right now!  Finish the year up right! :)

I think the best way is to go month by month.  So I am finishing June 2019 with these 2 cards.

The first one here is using a sticky paper and putting glitter on it.  Stamping on it and then coloring the images with Copics.  These stamps were from Sparkle N Sprinkle but the company is now Glitter Galore.  And a couple of Tim Holtz stars help finish this card.

The second card happened with a lot of help from Etsy. lol  It was for 10 year so Mario for the win!  And I used a Tim Holtz stamp for the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and sticking with me during this quite time.  :)

Mom's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

If you saw the title and thought wow it's way passed Mother's Day-I wouldn't deny it!  I was way later than I usually am (usually a day or two-thankfully my mom is awesome and understands me) :)

But I really wanted to make her a card.  So I made this card using my silhouette and the design is from the design store.  I used star dust stickles to fill in the circles-and it really makes this card pretty.  (I think anyways!) lol.

It's a 5x5 square card.  So I put extra postage on it and I'm crossing my fingers that it makes it ok. :)

I am submitting this to the challenge at {PIN}spirational-#238.  There's still a few days to play so if you haven't posted your mom's day card-do it! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends--I'm gonna try to work on the dad's day card---tomorrow! ;)

Happy New Year!

Hello Everybody!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has had a great couple of weeks!  I have had a great time with family and friends-and hope for more of that in 2019 :)

I got to be a little crafty-and I didn't realize how much I missed it!

There is a Facebook Group Challenge to do a Tim Holtz tissue wrap tag.  I had to dust off my supplies (yikes!) and then retrain myself on how to use the paints and stuff.  Very sad I know.  But there is a happy ending.  I made this cool tag and got a few more papers going because I poured out too much product.  A little goes a long way-LOL  It's all good though!

This is about 99% all Tim Holtz.  Here's what I used:
Ranger Tag
Distress Paints: Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Salt Ocean, Picked Raspberry
Distress Oxide Ink: Picked Raspberry (on the 2019 cardstock under the glitter, around the edges
Melange Tissue Paper
Distress Spray Stain-Picket Fence
Lower Case Sizzix TH letter dies (663074)
Rubons-Life Quotes, Botanical, Words
Big Chat Stickers
Distress Glitter Spun Sugar
Glossy Accents
Mirrored Stars
Natural Trimmings Ribbon

The butterfly takes center stage on this cool background.  I didn't want to cover up that part of the tissue paper.  I added water to react with the paints also.

Like I said-it has been too long since I made a tag so hopefully there will be more in the future.  :)  There are a few backgrounds in the making from this tag-so be sure to check back!

Until next time my friends...Get your wings and let's fly!

Glitter, Flock, and Goggly Eyes-Oh My!

Hello Everybody,

It's the middle of March-I'm not sure how that happened so fast!  So Easter is quickly approaching-and we are making Easter cards for the challenge at Creative with Stamps.

One of the things I wanted to use this year is glitter.  I have a beautiful collection-and I need to use it!  So one of the cool things my husband has given me in the past year is double sided adhesive for the silhouette cameo.  So I cut these cute little bunnies and glittered them.  The sentiment is Hampton Art and the ink on this card is tempting turquoise from Stampin Up.

Why did I say "on this card"-because there was a process to get to these cute bunnies.  Scroll on down and I will show you. :)

Here is the sticker paper with a bunny removed.  I try to cut out everything on the one sheet at one time so I don't have a scrap of it hanging around.

Here is the bunny on the card.

Here is the bunny with the top adhesive paper taken off.  It left the eyes and nose on which was good.  At this point I added glitter or flock.

These were the bunnies I made first.  I used Ranger's enamel accents for the noses.  The pink bunny is made with Martha Stewart jellybean glitter. (Love this by the way.)  The blue one is made with a blue glitter that happened to be more transparent-which made me like it less.  LOL.

Then I realized I had goggly eyes.  What a difference!  The eyes give them a little more character.

These two bunnies are made with flock.  It's a bit messier than glitter to me, but that might be because I hardly ever use it.  Which is a terrible-because these guys are so soft! :)

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my bunny cards.  I know there is quite a few-but once I got started I couldn't stop.

We would love to see you join the Creative with Stamps challenge.  Be sure to put the graphic on your blog post.  And as always there is a cool prize to be had!  So go check it out and the rest of my teammates beautiful inspiration. :)

Until next time my friends-add some glitter! :)

CWS Easter Card

Hello Everybody!

There's a new challenge for March at Creative with Stamps!  The new challenge is Easter cards.

This is my last challenge as part of the DT for CWS.  This has a been a great design team to be apart of.  The ladies are so supportive and creative.  They are truly an inspiration!  Also,-a big thank you goes to Lillian and Monika.  They work really hard to make sure things go smoothly and there are great prizes for you guys in blogland.  Thank you ladies for choosing me to be apart of the team.  ðŸ˜˜

Ok onto my card.  :)  I had to use my crazy bird stamp set from Tim Holtz again.  I love these little guys and their accessories!

For the background I used Ken Olivers Color Bursts.  These color powders are so fun when mixed with water.  I made a few backgrounds and this one felt like spring.  I used broken china distress and water for the bird's body and picked raspberry for his tie.  I used stickles for the ears and cotton candy stickles for the inside of the bunny ears.  The butterfly is a stamp I had and the sentiment is also Tim Holtz.

I used a four blade pair of scissors to make the grass and stamped little eggs and "hid" them.

We can't wait to see the Easter cards y'all will make!  Be sure when you link up you add our graphic to your post so you can be eligible for prizes! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...we can't wait to see your "egg-cellant" cards :)

Glittery Peacock Card

Hello Everybody!

Wow!  November has gone by so fast.  So fast that I almost missed this post!  ðŸ˜²  And now there are emojis in blogger!  Have I been gone that long?  (LOL  just kidding I posted on November 1st.)

So since it's November 15, it time for a mid-month reminder of our very cool challenge happening at Creative with Stamps.  You have to use a bird stamp.  So be sure to check out what my awesome teammates created along with the rules here.

For my card I used a peacock stamp from Great Impressions.  I embossed it with Sienna Star embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  The sentiment is from an old Fiskars thank you set.

The glitter around the edges is also from Sparkle N Sprinkle called Golden Silver.  It is absolutely beautiful.  Gold sometimes is dark and that is ok in some applications.  But I love happy bright gold and this glitter is all of that.  I used red line tape around the edges.  The black pearls are from Rangers Enamel Accents.  For me I needed to balance out the sentiment.  :)

I couldn't figure out which photo I liked better.  So I thought why not include them both.

And we have 2 great sponsors this month-so there are prizes!

Sponsors:

3 Digital Stamps from Eureka Stamps
(for CWS Challenge Winner)

&

3 Digital Stamps from STAMPLORATIONS
(for RANDOM Winner)

I would like to link this card to the following challenges:

So please join us with your bird stamps!  Until next time my friends...stay tweet! :)

Pumpkin Shaker Card

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share my pumpkin shaker card with ya'll this evening.

I used a Queen and Company circle pop up-it's the foam part that keeps all of the fun little sequins and stuff inside.  I used my silhouette to cut the pumpkin (bought from the sil store). and measured it to cover the circle foam tape.  The bottom circle was a bit too small so I cut a larger circle to make it work.

This circle was a middle circle.  And it got me thinking-there are a couple of big circles in the pack.  What are those used for?  This is a normal A2 sized card.  I guess bigger cards.  I will have to do some research-but if you have used the larger circles and it's on your blog-leave your link and I will check it out.  :)

The sentiment is washi tape that I bought at Michaels.  Also-I embossed the black panel with a bat embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  I used Black Diamond Stickles to go around the panel to add a little extra interest. :)

Here is a closer look at the stuff inside.  Mostly it's from Queen and Company and then there are some Halloween sequins that my friend Jodi gave me.  :)

There are 2 bats and this fun jack o' lantern sequin.  So fun! :)

I am linking this card up to Use Your Stuff-orange, black and one neutral.  So I used kraft for my neutral.

I would also like to link up to Inspiration Destination-Anything Goes 107.

Got Trend?

Hello Everybody!

I was playing around and made this Halloween card.  I was playing with trends.  The background is a little mixed media-spray, used a stencil, did some paint splatters.  Then I incorporated some feathers.  They're still in style right?  And gold!  I am obsessed with gold.  I used to like it.  Now I am full blown obsessed.  So I used Ranger's sticky embossing powder along with this fabulous gold glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle to outline the ghost.

What do you think?  It's a little different.  Sometimes you have to go out of your comfort zone.  That is what I did. :)

And since Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-I am going to submit this crazy card!

Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time my friends....gold use lots of gold ;)  (just kidding!)

Glitter Witches

Hello Friends!

How have you been?  It seems like way to much time in between my posts!  But Halloween is coming and so is Christmas so I am hoping to make more projects to share.  :)

This past Saturday I got the treat of going to Michaels.  "Don't go crazy" my sweet husband always says...but it's almost Halloween! ;)  LOL  So I am looking for some Halloween card making paper and all they have are 12X12 stacks (minus the last 8x8 Tim Holtz Halloween that I snatched up).  One of the stacks is like black and gold Halloween-like fancy Halloween.

Unfortunately, I'm not a fancy Halloween person.  I must have orange and black and pumpkins and witches.  I didn't get any paper (also I found a new stack of Halloween paper in a Christmas order I had placed and gotten.  So glad I didn't buy any paper!) But this thought of fancy Halloween haunted me.  Why can't I do a fancy Halloween card?  What constitutes fancy?

So I used Rangers Sticky Embossing Powder with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Golden Silver glitter and created this:

It's a fancy meets grunge--LOL.  I love the brightness of this glitter-all of my other glitter and embossing powder is dark gold.  It seems like bright happy gold is everywhere.  For the background I used a Tim Holtz stencil and Viva Inka Gold (which looks better on black than I would have ever imagined.)  The witches and sentiment are both from Great Impressions stamps.

For the lace I used antique linen and tarnished brass distress stains and some black distress ink.

I am entering this Fancy grunge card into the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...stay shiny :)

January Tag 2015

Hello Everybody!

Nothing like a little procrastination to start the New Year off right-I finally made the Tim Holtz January Tag.  But I am gonna say...better late than never! :)

I love the look of Tim's tag which you can see here.  To me it's like distress glamour.  I had most of the supplies for this.  Some differences are I have the first tissue paper that came out with the notes and butterflies.  Then I don't have brass distress glitter so I substituted.  Also, some of my chitchat words are different because I had used some in earlier projects.  And then I have the old labels-not the circle ones but I will be on the lookout for those.  Lastly, my placement is a little off because I didn't plan for the arrow and label when I placed the chitchat words.

The coolest thing in that I learned I could use the Krylon marker with the spritzer.  This is just super cool!

I am linking this up to the following:

Thank you for stopping by today!  I am excited to see February's tag!

Until next time my friends...Happy 2015! :)

Glitter Butterfly for the New Year

Hello Everybody,

Happy New Year!  2015!  So exciting!  Are you ready?  ;)

Well I hope one of your resolutions is to either be more crafty or to make more cards--LOL!  House of Cards is the right place for you!  Once a month there is a challenge for your card-and you just have to link up!  Check out the site for the rules then for this month get your glitter out--it's time to sprinkle! ;)

Here is my card.  This is the first time I made a gate fold card.  I embossed the "doors" and used my new Silouette (thank you hubby!) to cut the butterfly.  Then I used a thin glue and sprinkled a micro glitter on the butterfly.  The paper for the butterfly, stamp, and ink (eggplant envy) are from Stampin' Up.

Here's a closeup of the butterfly.

And here is the inside.

I was in a clean and simple mood-but you can use any style you like.

Until next time my friends..,Happy New Year!  Let's make it a crafty one! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps!

Hello Everybody!

It's Friday so that means it's my turn over the Great Impressions Blog!  Today I am sharing 2 cute tags for Christmas!

Isn't this snowman soooooo cute?!

The stamps that I used for the front of these two tags are: A71 Snowflake Cluster  and E774 Snow Adorable.  For these tags I took a sheet of tacky red-line adhesive and put on side down on white cardstock.  Then I die cut out these two tags (from a Brenda Walton die/Sizzix).  I punch holes.  Then I took off the other protective sheet exposing the tacky adhesive part.  I poured a micro glitter over the adhesive.  Using Ranger's Archival ink, I stamped on images.  Then I colored the images with Copic Markers.

Here a full picture of the tags.  I outlined one with Red Stickles and the other with Ranger's White Enamel Accents.

I like to make usable tags at Christmas time.  So I stamped on the back B171 To & From.

Be sure to stop by the blog to see lots of Holiday inspiration.  You can also check us out on Facebook and on Pinterest

It's always so hard to believe that Christmas is on it's way again!  I hope everyone has a good weekend!  Until next time my friends...keep craftin'! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions!

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn at the Great Impressions Blog to show you a creation using stamps from the Great Impressions Store.

I used these stamps to create this card:  E551 Too Cute Pumpkins and D330 Happy Thanksgiving.

I used a Tim Holtz Stencil (and that's his Crackle paper for the base).  I mixed So Safron Stampin Up re-inker with light modeling paste to create the spots.  I used Martha Stewart glitter around the circle.  (I really have been wanting to use glitter.  Yay!)  I colored to the pumpkins with Stampin Up stamps.

The sentiment-I cut out and put on the Tim Holtz mover/shaker shape.  Then I added 2 brads and pop dotted it.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I am truly thankful for you guys!  Thank you for the sweet comments also!

Be sure to check us out of Facebook and Pinterest

Until next time my friends...let's get a pumpkin latte! ;)
