Father's Day Cards (3)

Hello Everybody!

I want to share with everyone the Father's Day cards I made.  I know I'm late.  Two were on time and the other will hopefully get in the mail tomorrow.  I know I'm lucky to make 3-one for my dad, my husband's dad, and my husband.

This first one was for my father-in-law.  He's not a cowboy but he likes Westerns.  :)  The background is paper from 7 Gypsies and I used this cowboy die cut from the Silhouette Design Store.

This card was for by husband.  I used 7 Gypsies paper and rub-ons.  The rest of it is Tim Holtz goodies.  The dude on the front is from the Stampers Anonymous "The Professor" set and I just love it.  My husband also likes fancy pens and noticed the ad for pens at the bottom.  Win! :)

My dad loves computers but not gaming-and that can sometimes be hard for me to create around.  But he also likes a good nap (wink! ;) so somewhere in creative blogland I saw a hammock for fathers day and remembered I had this cute hedgehog in a hammock-yay!  I colored it with copics and added nuvo crystal drops-which I totally love.  The sentiment is stampin up and the leaf paper is vellum which I have had for a mighty long time-now I have a shorter piece of it.  LOL :)

Thank you for stopping by to check out my Dad cards.  Until next time my friends...stay crafty! :)

Card of Dad

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I made a card for my Dad.  He plays guitar so I thought it was fitting :)

The background is made using distress oxides and Ken Olivers Yellow Gold.  While I spritzed the paper with water I put a few drops of the gold liquid to give the paper a little shimmer.  I also used watercolor paper so it would take the water better.  After the paper was dry I used a music embossing folder.

The die cut is a file from the Silhouette store.  I made a few guitars to get the different colors layered.

I am submitting this card to the Cards in Envy Challenge: You're the Man Challenge.

Until next time my friends, enjoy the music! :)

A Father's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

It is time for a little mid month inspiration over at Creative with Stamps.

This month's challenge is about making manly cards.  So for this card I got out my Tim Holtz stamps and inks.  The map and airplane are both Tim's.  I used gold embossing powder on blue cardstock for the airplane.  The sentiment is Stampin Up using Ranger ink-Manganese blue.  And the air mail is a stampin up stamp.

Be sure you join us!

I can't believe Father's Day is almost here-and I am so not prepared! Eek!

I am prepared to link this card up to the following challenges:

Father's Day Canvas

Hello Everybody!

Today it's my turn to share a project at the Blog for Unique Laser Designs.   I created a burlap canvas using Unique Laser Designs wood embellishments.

Here was my thought process.  I had put gesso in the background but I wasn't sure what colors I would use.  I used Tim Holtz paints in the background.  This is my first burlap frame and for me stamps didn't work so well on it.  So I used paints and light modeling paste and gelatos with the harlequin stencil.

I did put some Wendy Vecchi translucent embossing paste on here using a burlap stencil from Tim Holtz but it didn't come out very well.  Which is ok!  It does blend in with the artsy organic feel to the canvas.  The places that I put the clear embossing paste just look like shiny spots, not shiny little squares.  LOL.  Next time I will go for a bigger stencil.  :)

Here are some bricks from the brick stencil that Unique Laser Designs has.  You get the stencil AND the bricks.  Super cool!  Some bricks are blank but some have words on them.

I painted the polaroid frames.  I just used picket fence by TH on those.  Since I wasn't looking for a stark white look, I didn't use gesso first on those.  I used salty ocean and peeled paint for the music notes.  On the heart is barn door red and I used glossy accents on it.  The word smile I left in its natural wood state.  The flower is from Maya Road.

Here's another picture of my canvas.  I love having the then and now photo.

I am submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge:  Paint  I used Tim Holtz paints on the background and on the heart, musical notes, and frames.

Unique Laser Designs is also have a Design Team Call!  Come check out the details here

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Happy Father's Day! :)

Father's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

I finished a Father's Day Card using my Tim Holtz pocket watch die, grungeboard, and foil cardstock.  It is using the techniques he used in his January Tag, except I used alcohol inks instead of paint in the middle.

The paper is a scrap that got distressed with black loot distress ink.  I gold embossed the sentiment.  And I used chit chat words for the middle.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a good night! :)

Father's Day TV Card

Hello Everybody!

Whew!  Father's Day is right around the corner!  And I don't know about ya'll but I have about 4 cards to make--my husband, my dad, my husband's dad, and my uncle.  I have one made and with this one-there are 2 cards left.  No pressure! ;)

The awesome folks at Retro Sketches had a great sketch (#14) that inspired this card.  There's still time to play!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I used the DCWV Guy Stack for the moustache paper and the polka dot paper strip.  The TV and sentiment are from Paper Smooches Boob Tube collection.

On the inside I used a stamp from G Studio.  I was a little too close when I took the inside picture!  LOL!

Until next time my friends...Honor your dads! :)

Father's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

Simon Says Stamp and Challenge is having a DT call-so if you are interested go check it out!  You can go here for the information.

Simon Says Stamp and Challenge's current challenge is Father's Day/Special Male.  This is a great challenge because Dad's Day is quickly approaching and I don't know about you--but I have a few cards to make and a few gifts to buy!

Here is my card:

All of the papers are from DCWV The Guy Stack.  Even the sentiment is from that Stack.  The screws are brads from Michaels.  There are beige rub-ons under the sentiment, and they are from Prima (circles and stars).  And that awesome moustache is from Mambi.

Until next time my friends...don't forget about Dad!
