Shaker Christmas Tag

 Hello Friends!

I did not manage my time well,  and I am entering this tag at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog at the very last minute! LOL   It was like one minute I was lounging around eating turkey and today it's like it's Christmas time--GO!  LOL. 

So here is my tag for their challenge Tag it.

Here are some details: I used Christmas minis-the gingerbread man and the circle die. That is a sizzix dome and I put Ranger mica flakes in there for a little shakety shake. I used an impresslet and cut the circle using the circle die from the Chirstmas minis and it all fit perfectly. I used foil cardstock for the red circle decoration. I used gold foil cardstock (both Tim Holtz-I love that paper!) for the for you which is a sizzix die from a tag die cut set.  

The green ribbon is from the dollar tree. And the paper is from Paper Pizzazz and is a bit old LOl. And I used a stampin up stamp circa 2004 for the to and from.

December Projects

Hello Friends! 

I made it to December!  This of course was a crazy month.  I made some Christmas tags but only seemed to photograph 2 sets.

A friend of mine and I hold a Christmas tag party at our church and we teach whoever comes how to make tags.  It's a wonderful evening of crafting and friendship.

So this is using Martha Stewart snowflake stamps and stampin up pastel colors.  I love how you will see a tree all decorated in soft colors.  

This is the ugly sweat tag.  In silhouette I duplicated a sweater file that I had bought from their store and connected the sleeves together so it would open.  And then I showed a could of ways to decorate-but there were infinite possibilities.  I put out sequins, stickers, pompoms, glitter glue, and I can't even remember what else.

So the last crafty thing I took a picture of in December are these four gnomes.  Again Pinterest for the save.  It was actually Pinterest for the idea.  Most of the supplies came from the Dollar Tree.  The beards and yarn came from Hobby Lobby.  And I used my pom pom maker for the little pom pom on the end of their hats.  I sewed them on the ends of their hats.  I used rice in their bottoms and only one gnome has a cone hat.  The rest I used stuffing that I had.  These were super fun to make.

Catching Up Post

Hello Eveybody!

It's so crazy to think that this is the end of the month, isn't it?  December just flew by!  I just posted a card with a cute bus and reindeer--but before that I haven't posted since like November.  And before that there was a post in October. 

I promise that I have been crafting-but things have been so busy (I'm sure you understand) that I am doing good to take a picture and then I am onto the next thing.

So I wanted to show you guys what I have been making.  My pictures aren't fancy-I couldn't get many of my crafty projects into the photo box before they needed to be given out.  So you will see my Ranger mat-LOL  (Side note-Dear Ranger have you thought of making mats in different colors? Love ya!)

So let's start with Halloween.  This year I was in charge of my church's Trunk Or Treat.  This is one of my favorite events of the year.  People sign up and decorate their trunks and give out candy.  I wanted to make sure each trunk was recognized by the organizer of the event.  I wanted to be sure I thanked each person.  So I made these Halloween ribbons:

I made 30 of these ribbons-using my silhouette I made the circles and using my score pad I made rosettes.  That is a time consuming project-LOL  I love the ribbon part-glittery goodness that I bought at Hobby Lobby.  Those little halloween images are sequins.  And the thank you is cut out of paper from my Silhouette also.

I also made some cards that I barely was able to take pictures of before it was time to send them off-

This card was for my sweet friend who gave me these cool shape stamps and owl stamps from Close to My Heart.

This card was for a friend of our that had been involved in a horrible car accident.  It's a blessing she is still with us today.  I love this card because of the transparent paste and the TH paper doll.  The sentiment is also a Tim Holtz stamp-and I love that set of sentiments.

This was for my friend Danielle-her families dog passed away due to age.  No matter how old-it's never easy.  I am happy to say that they now have a new puppy.  :)

This card was for someone my husband works with who was retiring.  He asked if I could put an RV on the card.  Super cute die cuts from Silhouette!  I love how this turned out.  I love it when I can make a little scene on a card.  :) 

My friend Danielle also needed some Christmas teacher gifts.  I don't do a ton of vinyl projects but I made these for her per her request.  It was Pinterest inspired. 

Another friend of mine and I came up with a fun thing to do with our friends at church.  We had a tag making party.  We each made 6 tag designs-set up tables and had a great spread of food.  We couldn't have thrown such an awesome event without my friend Danielle and another friend of ours.  :)  My hubby helped put out food too-so it was a great group effort.  Here are my tags:

This tag was cut from the silhouette, has washi tape and the snowflake is silhouette.  I spritzed it with liquid Silver Pearls by Ranger to make it sparkly.

This was Pinterest inspired and Silhouette created.  People at the event glued the pieces on and punched a hole to put the twine through.  I had different colored "cups" to add variety.

Good ol' Silhouette.  To make the hats more original-I brought my Cuttlebug and taught people how to emboss.  There is a white hat base that everything glued onto.

Silhouette!  and then I used Red Stickles on the noses so our guests wouldn't have to worry about glitter glue drying.  They also assembled the parts using glue sticks.

The base of these tags and the singing kids are from Silhouette.  The background was this awesome tissue paper from Hobby Lobby.  You adhere the tissue paper on top of the tag and cut of the extra.  Then I had different sequins and gems so people could personalize their tags.

The tag cut out was Silhouette, the stamp is from Stampin Up and then I put gold ink around the sides with a Cat's Eye ink.  

Anytime I prepare something like this (which is not often) I always have a greater appreciation for people who develop classes and have to prep kits.  LOL-sometimes when you take a class you don't think about someone having to make or distribute pieces to so many kits.  

And we didn't get paid for this.  We donated the materials, food, and time.  It was a great time of fellowship.  And thanks be to God for giving us the idea and having it turn out great.  (I'm not gonna lie, we both were like what were we thinking?  But nothing to worry about when you give it to God.)  :)

Whew!  That's a lot--and I probably left a few things out.  Right now I'm working on a December Daily-just starting it actually.  LOL  Yeah I know what today's date is.

Friday Fun With Great Impressions!

So here is my tag:

I used these Great Impressions Stamps:  E774 Snow Adorable and F459 Dotted Winter Tree.

I used a Tim Holtz die cut for the tag and tumbled glass distress ink around it.  The snowman is colored with Copics and pop dotted.  I used a mask for the trees.  And the sparkly snow and outline are from Crystal Stickles.

Friday Favorites-Favorite Project to Make for Christmas

Hello Everybody!

Over at Scrap It Girl it is time to celebrate our Favorite Things.  Today we are celebrating our Favorite Projects to Make at Christmas.

I love to craft but just in the most recent years have I started making things for Christmas.  I used to have to work and travel and there just wasn't time for making Christmas things.  But now some of that has changed.

One of my most favorite things to make at Christmas time are Christmas Tags.  I make them for a friend of mine.  (She commented that she like some of my first Christmas Tags and I have been sending her some every year after that.) :)

I love making tags for Christmas.  They are little pieces of art but if they get thrown out-it's not a big deal.  Tags can only stay around for so long.

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share with you my project today for the Great Impressions Blog!  They just released the December stamps-and these designs are so fun and festive-you will want to add them to your collection!  And just in time there is a sale going on through Monday-click here! :)

So here is my project.  It measures 6 inches tall-so it could be a Christmas ornament or a big Christmas tag.  And at Christmas sometimes you need a big Christmas tag!  I found this design on Pinterest and the original website and how to can be found here.  Because I used what materials I have on hand-scroll on down, and I will show you how I made this.

I used G512 Winter Snowflake for the center with gold embossing powder.

This old thesaurus is what I used for my cones.  My other books seem too "new."

These are chipboard circles for scrapbooking that I have had ffffooorrreeevvveeeerrrrrrr! So I decided one of these would be the base (instead of the star from the original website.)

Before I started to add cones, I stamped B171 To & From on the back with Ranger's Archival Ink.  The back of the chipboard was glossy.

So on the front I started to add my cones.  I used gloss gel medium for my adhesive for the cones and to adhere theme to the chipboard circle.  

For the glitter I used a brushable glue and then drizzled gold glitter over the openings of the cones.

I had punched a hole in the base before I put any cones on so after the cones were glued down I tied on the ribbon.  I used redline tape for the embossed snowflake circle.

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps!

Hello Everybody!

It's Friday so that means it's my turn over the Great Impressions Blog!  Today I am sharing 2 cute tags for Christmas!

Isn't this snowman soooooo cute?!

The stamps that I used for the front of these two tags are: A71 Snowflake Cluster  and E774 Snow Adorable.  For these tags I took a sheet of tacky red-line adhesive and put on side down on white cardstock.  Then I die cut out these two tags (from a Brenda Walton die/Sizzix).  I punch holes.  Then I took off the other protective sheet exposing the tacky adhesive part.  I poured a micro glitter over the adhesive.  Using Ranger's Archival ink, I stamped on images.  Then I colored the images with Copic Markers.

Here a full picture of the tags.  I outlined one with Red Stickles and the other with Ranger's White Enamel Accents.

I like to make usable tags at Christmas time.  So I stamped on the back B171 To & From.

Tag Time!

Hey Everybody!

Whew!  I am totally embracing Christmas-I love it.  So I have been making tags for my friend who will hopefully get her envelope of tags today.  :)

I wanted to show ya'll what I had made.  Most of these are fancy but just fun.  I even used up a pack of rub-ons!  So let's see them!

This tag is made using an old Stampin' Up stamp I found at a thrift store for like .70.  I found some others too-I just haven't used them yet.  I was a very happy camper that day! :)

These tags are made using Echo Parks Digital papers and cards.  They had this promotion every Wednesday where they sold the paper sets and matching journal cards and stuff for $1 and maybe $1.50 for the matching cards.  How could I not?  So one Wednesday I bought 1 Christmas pack.  The following I bought a different Christmas pack and the accent pack.  I printed them out and here they are.  Now the Santa is from the Graphic Fairy.  I added the little plastic Christmas tree and buttons.  

For these tags I used up an old pack of Provo Craft rub-ons--Yay!  It had a cute Santa that I put in my December Daily book.  Oh-what's that-how's my December Daily book going?  Well today is Dec 20th and it stops at Dec 4th.  That's how that project is going ;)

So these Surfin' Santas are from a Close to My Heart set I bought a long time ago.  They're totally rad.

These snowmen are from a Hero Arts set that I had to have this year.  I love snowmen! :)

These two beauties are made from Graphic 45's chipboard and punchouts from their Twelve Days of Christmas line.  I took a class with Annette Green and made an awesome mini album.  She is a designer from Graphic 45 and is super creative and an awesome teacher.  She had brought some projects she had made which included Christmas tags.  I totally loved them!  Check them out here.  So I got out the jump rings and crop-a-dile...

So a couple of nights ago I got the gelli plate out.  My son and I had a fun time rolling out paint and making designs.  I pre-cut tags from the cricut machine.  Lots of fun!

These little stockings were part of the rub-ons I used up but what makes this tag special is that I put my friend and her husband's first initial on them.  Awe....I'm so sweet ;)

I love how this tag turned out.  I heat embossed the background with white embossing powder.  Added a few snowflakes and a K & Company snowman.  The white card stock is embossed with some one of those little Tim Holtz embossing folders and then I inked it.  Very fun!

Vintage Christmas Tag

Hello Everybody!

I am starting to work on some Christmas tag-one of my most favorite things to do.  I especially love sending an envelope of tags to my friend Melissa.  So if your reading this-surprise! ;)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Make Your Own Background--The background is vintage photo and walnut stain T.H. Distress Ink and a handwriting background stamp.  Also, I flicked some water on the tag to react with the ink.  The top of the tag has scattered straw stamped on it using a dotted stamp from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

I was going for a vintage feel so I wouldn't use red or green on this tag for the 365 Cards challenge.  For me that was very challenging-but I love it!  I found the Santa at The Graphic Fairy.  The banners are stamps from Hero Arts and the round 25th banner is from Inkadinkado.  Wish is a Tim Holtz ticket.  I added buttons at the top and letter stickers for the names.  And there is lace at the top for string.

Tidbit Tuesday-Customized Christmas Tags

Hello Everybody!

I was making Christmas tags when I dawned on me.  As crafters we can make things that other people can't.  Stay with me!  I am talking about complete customization.

So I am making these tags for some friends of mine.  You can see what they like...

I used a Mickey Mouse stamp and colored him with Copic Markers.  If you had a sticker you could just as easily put that on the tag and put a little Santa Claus hat on him.  These Santa Hats are from Jolee's.  From the same MM stamp set what the little Mickey Mouse head.  The R2D2 (Star Wars) was a sticker I had.

Do you have a friend that likes dogs or birds?  You can customize their tag not just for their gift and for Christmas but to take it a step further and reflect what they love.  Also, you can look at your stamps or stickers a little differently.  :)
