Shaker Christmas Tag

 Hello Friends!

I did not manage my time well,  and I am entering this tag at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog at the very last minute! LOL   It was like one minute I was lounging around eating turkey and today it's like it's Christmas time--GO!  LOL.

So here is my tag for their challenge Tag it.

Here are some details: I used Christmas minis-the gingerbread man and the circle die. That is a sizzix dome and I put Ranger mica flakes in there for a little shakety shake. I used an impresslet and cut the circle using the circle die from the Chirstmas minis and it all fit perfectly. I used foil cardstock for the red circle decoration. I used gold foil cardstock (both Tim Holtz-I love that paper!) for the for you which is a sizzix die from a tag die cut set.

The green ribbon is from the dollar tree. And the paper is from Paper Pizzazz and is a bit old LOl. And I used a stampin up stamp circa 2004 for the to and from.

Thank you for stopping by!

Butterfly Thanks Card

 Hello Everybody!

I feel energized by the new year.  I hope it lasts!

I got out my Queen and Company bin. It's not an enormous bin but I would like to work on using the things in there. That way I have a better excuse to buy new stuff ;) LOL

This is a fun shaker card that I made.

I have the butterfly die but I am now out of the foam bottoms that came with it.  However, I bought a pack of 4 sheets of foam and actually cut out my own. (It is Q&C foam sheets.) So I cut out the paper which I couldn't find my pack of q and c paper (Boo!) so I chose this so it would compete too much with the fun shaker on the inside. All those bits, the gems on the side and and thanks is a die from Queen and Company. The twine is from Hobby Loby. :)

Here is a close up. I love all of these little bits!

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Shaker Cards

Hello Everybody!

I am back!  Time is a funny thing-I was away from my blog a lot longer than I thought!  I knew I was going to take a little break.  I was sort of evaluating how I did my blog.  Like was I going to change anything?

I've been making projects here and there.  I can't stop making.  And I have taken photos of my projects.  But I haven't been able to type them up and-this is a biggie-get them into a challenge.  I have become so challenge driven that I couldn't make something without it being inspired by someone other than myself.  And that started to effect my mojo.  So I took a step back.  Realizing that it's ok to make stuff however I want to make stuff.  Am I still going to do challenges-Oh YEAH! I love the opportunity to have my card on the winners page or win a prize-please don't misunderstand me! :)  But I have to make stuff for myself also, which is how I got here in the first place. :)

So are there going to be changes?  Just a few in that I am going to post some things just to post them.  I want to have an online record of making a card or some mixed media project-even if it isn't tied to a challenge or something.

So I am going to start with a couple of Shaker Cards that I made in the beginning--maybe a year or so ago that never got posted.

This card with the stars is made using the diamonds from Queen and Company.  The stars are cut from my silhouette.  I used my Fuse to make the little bags for the diamonds.  And before I gave this card out-I put a thank you in white in the right corner.  But I don't have a picture of it completed.  I was very happy with this card when it was done.  And I loved shaking those diamond pieces. :)

How did I miss posting this card?  And I made a boy version of this card but can't find it right now.  The frame and dino were cut from my silhouette machine also.  This shaker uses a Queen and Company rectangle to keep all of the fun bits from falling out.

I LOVE shaker cards.  They are so fun to make.  My favorite part is picking out what goes in the shaker.  :)

Thank you for stopping by today.  Until next time my friends--it's time to shake things up! :)

Shaker Butterfly Card

Hello Everybody!

I love love love shaker cards!  And I love that Queen and Company has totally made shaker cards their thing.  When I was at the Scrapbook Expo, I spent a lot of time in the Q&C booth.  If you haven't been to their booth-first it's color coded.  So I bought these little flower that are on this card.

But this card is a shaker using their die cut (that I had to buy!  Butterfly 😍😍😍)  I also had an Art Anthology class-and they have cool paints and sprays.  So I bought Wisteria and Pixie.  I painted the purple (Wisteria) on the outside of this card and Pixie (the light blue) on the inside.  There are sequins and all sorts of goods in the shaker part.  AKA my favorite part.  I love putting all of the little bits into the shaker. :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Mother's Day Shaker Card

Hello!

I have been busy over the last few days.  I went to the Scrapbook Expo yesterday-and was totally inspired by the examples and products.  There was so much to see!  It's nice to see the Expo getting bigger.  In years past it has been smaller, but it's definitely growing now. :)

One of my favorite booths is Queen and Company.  They are always so bright and cheerful.  Everything is organized by color-so it's hard not to want 1 of everything.

For my mom this Mother's Day, I made this shaker card.  The flower paper came from a magazine gift.  Everything else is Queen and Co.  I mad the 2 little flowers at the top with a paper punch.  All of the fun sequins inside the shaker are Queen and Co as well.  The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin Up (I think).

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today!  And early Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there.

Mid-Month Valentine

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to show you my Valentine Day's card for our Mid-month reminder with Creative with Stamps!  Be sure when you link up to use our cool graphic:

This card was made using the Heart Throb kit from Queen and Company.  I love this sweet heart die and foam.  The kit has awesome papers-but I chose a different way here.  I embossed white cardstock with a candy hearts embossing folder.

Those are cupid sequins in the heart!  And some white pearl ball-things.  I also used a tim holtz embossing tool that allowed the oval on the bottom not to be embossed so I could stamp the sentiment there.

Did you have a Valentine you haven't linked up yet or if your starting next year's supply-its not too late to join our challenge.  It goes until the end of the month.  Thank you for stopping by!

Until next time my friends...watch out for cupid! :)

Steampunk Valentine

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to show you the card I made using the Queen and Company Heart Throb kit with a Steampunk Flair!

First here is my card:

Here is another picture of it.

Here are the products that I used to create it:

Plus I used Q and C's heart die and a heart foam.

For the background I used the foil cardstock.  But it was too shiny-so I inked it up with black distress paint.

I also inked up the heart foam for the shaker part.  I used the black distress paint for that as well.

I realized I had to do the inside too! :)

For the heart shaker I used the foil cardstock.  I embossed the inside with gears and used the preserves and black distress inks.  I used the black distress ink for the heart outline as well.

Then I filled it with all of those wonderful things-microbeads and diamonds and a few sequins.  But there are 3 silver little gears in there also.  They came from this earring that I bought at a Steampunk show back in January.

I'm saving the other 2 gears. :)

Here is another picture of the heart.

For the sentiment I used black and white cardstock.  I cut it out on the Silhouette and then made the background from there also.  I used the Ken Olivers liquid metals silver to make the sentiment sparkly.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Heart Shaker Card

Hello Everybody!

So I got the new heart throb kit from Queen and Company.  It's awesome!  I love all of the little things to go inside the shaker heart.

Everything on my card is from the kit except the micro beads in the heart and the white sequins and grey heart sequins.  The sequins are from the sequin bottles of Q&Co.

I also added Q&Co. pink diamonds.

I am entering this card into the House of Cards Challenge: Love theme and colors.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...love is in the air! :)

Pumpkin Shaker Card

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share my pumpkin shaker card with ya'll this evening.

I used a Queen and Company circle pop up-it's the foam part that keeps all of the fun little sequins and stuff inside.  I used my silhouette to cut the pumpkin (bought from the sil store). and measured it to cover the circle foam tape.  The bottom circle was a bit too small so I cut a larger circle to make it work.

This circle was a middle circle.  And it got me thinking-there are a couple of big circles in the pack.  What are those used for?  This is a normal A2 sized card.  I guess bigger cards.  I will have to do some research-but if you have used the larger circles and it's on your blog-leave your link and I will check it out.  :)

The sentiment is washi tape that I bought at Michaels.  Also-I embossed the black panel with a bat embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  I used Black Diamond Stickles to go around the panel to add a little extra interest. :)

Here is a closer look at the stuff inside.  Mostly it's from Queen and Company and then there are some Halloween sequins that my friend Jodi gave me.  :)

There are 2 bats and this fun jack o' lantern sequin.  So fun! :)

I am linking this card up to Use Your Stuff-orange, black and one neutral.  So I used kraft for my neutral.

I would also like to link up to Inspiration Destination-Anything Goes 107.

Shaker Card

Hello Everybody!

I hope April was a crafty month for ya'll.  It seemed very crafty for me!  I am hoping for lots of crafty time in May, also.  :)

Hopefully, ya'll will stop by House of Cards and see our new challenge which is to use acetate!  I have finally-FINALLY made a shaker card.  And I am sooo excited!

The shape is from Silhouette.  As a matter of fact they have the background, the frames, and the acetate part part included in one design.  Click here to see it.  And the silhouette cuts acetate!  You can click here to see how to do that.

So here is my card:

Here is a reflection off of the acetate.  The sequins can move around (they shake!).  But I left one of the frames off and I should have put it in.  I think they will move much better on the next one I make.  (There will be more!) :)

Here is a side view.  Under the glitter layer the frames are glued on top of each other.  So clever!

Be sure to check out my teammates for more inspiration!
