Sunshine Inspiration

Hello Everybody!

How is everyone doing on the New Year's Resolutions?  Do you make resolutions?  I have a couple-1. To use more glitter!  and 2. To make more things to blog about!  I looked at the blog posts for last year and the years before.  Last year was a little low so I am going to work toward blogging more.

So I didn't use glitter but I did use an image from a Day for Daisies digi stamp.  And I used watercolor crayons from Stampin Up that a friend of mine gave me.  Yay!  And it was a lot of fun to watercolor this image.

The sentiment is from Fun Stampers Journey and the polka dots on the reddish strip are from a Stampin Up stamp.  (I'm proud of myself for that.  Otherwise that paper would be plain.)

This card was inspired by the challenge at {Pin}spirational Challenges.  Here is the picture inspiration #157:

The background paper was totally inspired by this picture.  It came from Hobby Lobby.  :)

There is still time to play!  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...stay warm-brrrr!

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn to share a card at the Great Impressions Blog today.  This is K100 Christmas Gracie and, she is just too cute!  The sentiment is C427 Season's Greetings.  You can buy these and other super cute stamps at the Great Impressions Online Store.

I used Bashful Blue Stampin' Up Write Markers for Gracie's dress.  I outlined her dress with the marker then used an aqua pen to pick up marker ink from my craft sheet and apply it to her dress.  The sentiment is an embossing resist and I used SU's Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue ink for the background.

The silver background is Mon Ami Gabby-I think.  And the silver circles are from a strip of bling-so they are plastic not metal or paper.

Make sure you stop by the Great Impressions Store for you holiday shopping!  Orders in the U.S. over $25 ship free!

For more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)   And check out the Great Impressions Challenge!

Until next time my friends...I'm off to get some Christmas shopping done! ;)

Mother's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

***This card earned a Top 3 Spot at the challenge at Great Impressions.  Thank you! :)

I made a Mother's Day card today.  I have at least one more to do.  And you know how it is-if I get a third one made it's bonus! :)

This card was inspired by 2 challenges.

The first is Great Impressions.  May's challenge is to use a tutorial.  Let me tell you there are many great tutorials on their website!  So deciding what I was going to do was a big difficult but I finally chose the Water Color Emboss Resist Technique.  Mynn does the video and if you have seen her videos you know she does a wonderful job explaining the techniques.

The second inspiration for this card was the sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #166 Mother's Day.  Here's the sketch:

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder that I have had forever.  And the shape of the sentiment is from a Brenda Walton Sizzix Gift Tag die cut set.

For the watercolor I used Distress Ink by Ranger/Tim Holtz.  The colors Peacock Feathers (center out) and Salty Ocean (around edges).  I just put some ink on my craft mat and used a water paintbrush just like Mynn's.  Oh-I also used Watercolor Cardstock by Tim Holtz.  That made a huge difference!  I tried this with my normal cardstock.  I wasn't happy.  Then I used Tim's water color cardstock-and it turned out so much better.  The embossing and ink with water looked way better.

The pins and ribbon are from Making Memories.  Yellow flowers are from Recollections.  Tiny rhinestones are from the Scrapbook Expo this past weekend.  (Yay for new stuff!)  Also, I pop dotted the Mother's Day sentiment so the pins would fit neatly behind there.  The actual stamp I used for the stamp-I don't know the manufacturer for it.  I bought it 2nd hand.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!  There is plenty of time for these challenges so link up!

Until next time my friends....Happy Card Making :)
