Girlie ATC

Hello Everybody!

I came across a challenge called Wicked Wednesdays where you make Artist Trading Cards based on the theme.  The challenge right now is #246 Girlie.

I'm really excited about it.  I need to make some ATC's because the Scrapbook Expo is coming up, and they are one of the best ways (I think) to share my social media information.  Sometimes I don't give out any cards-and sometimes I wish I had one to give out.  LOL.  A lot of the time I'm so busy shopping and looking-I'm not talking making new friends.

So here is my ATC for this challenge:

I bought this stamp last year from Technique TJ Junkies.  These stamps were in the same booth as Art Anthology paints (which is very cool).  This is one of my favorite stamps.  I didn't break the rules-They were already broken when I got here.  Right?!?!  Sometimes I feel that way LOL :)

I used picked raspberry distress ink around the outer edges.  I colored the lady with Copic markers and added 3 pearls.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Until next time my friends...stay sassy ;)

A Little Cabin

Hello Everybody!

***This project was the winner at Lessology.  Thank you!

It is my turn at Unique Laser Designs Blog and have I got a fun project for you today!  This little cabin....

Here is the 360 tour.

Here is a side view and you can see the flower box on each side.

Here is the back.  This is behind the scenes!

This is the other side.

Here is the cabin with the light on.

Here are my pieces-one of the small polaroid frames, ATCs (all 4), and one the wooden tags.

Here is the roof glued together.  I used fabri-tac but it took a while to dry.  But is is a solid hold.

To make the shingles on the roof I used this punch I bought a looong time ago!  I think it was to make little punch people.  I for whatever reason just bought this shape and didn't realize that you needed all of these other punches.  So this punch is good for roof tiles and gum drops.  ;)  I adhered them using modge podge.  The paper is from Making Memories.

I used fiber paste on the walls (ATC cards-2).  Then I pushed in the brick stencil which is opposite of what you normally do with a stencil.

Here is the painted brick and mortar in progress.

I used aluminum foil to make the tree.  I folded it and figured out how tall I wanted it and then I rolled it up.

I embossed a piece of brown cardstock with the tree embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  Later I used a dark brown ink from Staz On to highlight the tree trunk.

Here is the paper wrapped around the aluminum.

For the leaves I used Tim Holtz's Garden Green die cut.  I used different green papers to give the tree a littel variety (and to use some scraps).

I started the tree top this way.  I used hot glue to put them on there.  Be careful not to burn yourself.

I was cleaning and found this thin cardboard.  Perfect for the space around my window.  (I'm sorry I don't have a picture of that.)  So I trimmed the cardboard and then did the same brick wall treatment.  Except this go around I used thinner fiber paste so it would dry sooner.

I did a little upcycling with this old material that I have had forever!

I used Worn Lipstick Distress Stain to make it pink.  :)  Happy!  Then I used a straw a the "curtain rod."  I put fabric tac on the material and glue it to itself with the straw through the middle.  You can open the curtains or close them.

Here is the tag.  I painted it green with distress paints shabby shutters and olive.  Once it dried I blotted some mowed grass from the ink pad on there.  I hot glued the tree where the fibers usually go.

This foam is the flower box.  Do you know where it is from?  It is the foam that comes in Tim Holtz embossing folders.  It's at the bottom.  I recycle the container but have to throw this away.  (Our company does not recycle foam).  But I saved this piece in case of something.  In case I needed a small flower box!  I cut it it to make it smaller.  I used walnut stain and scattered straw to paint it.  Then I added some little Kaiser flowers to it.

I put a tea light in the little cabin.  It looks so cool!  I also added some random little grass blades.

Here is the cabin at night.  :)

If you made it to the end of this post-Woo Hoo!  ;)  There was just so much to talk about!

I would like to enter this cabin into the challenge going on at Lessology:  #36 Use a Window and Upcycled Item
**Upcycled material for curtain and foam from packaging for flower box

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a great day! :)

Last 2 ATC's

Hello Everybody!

Here are the last 2 ATC's.  I think I could have made duplicates but I decided to make them all different.  Yes I'm crazy!  LOL!

The Earth is from a Jenny Bowlin stamp and I used this pretty sparkly embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Actually the other 2 stamps are from Jenny Bowlin also and the background is a road map.

The 2nd card has a few die cuts from Girl's Paperie and I used gesso in the middle of the frame so that I could stamp the Tim Holtz saying.  The arrow is painted and then has clear rock candy over it.  That is some awesome crackily fun right there! :)  I finished it up with a couple of eyelets.

I had a lot of fun making all of these different cards.  So now I think I will be making a few scrapbook pages and cards-it's time for a bigger canvas!

Until next time my friends...See you soon! :)

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Hello Everybody!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!  Usually I make cards for friends and family, but this year I was super busy.  So I made a few ATC cards to celebrate St. Patty's Day in a crafty way.

The Proud to be Green is on a card where I used Gelatos.  I'm trying use them more.  Roni at Ink Stains showed a cool way to use gelatos and that is what I was trying there.  The beer card is a card background using alcohol inks.  I love alcohol inks! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...may the luck of the Irish be with you! :)

Some More ATC's

Hello Everybody!

Here are some more ATC's.  They all have backgrounds made from using a monprint from the gelli plate.  If you haven't seen it-go check it out.  They also have a facebook page where they post way cool backgrounds and projects.  I am still learning about making monoprints.  But I can tell you it is very addictive!

Do you ever have stamps or things that you forget about?  I have some word stamps from Stamp Rite that are old but awesome.  I remember my step mom buying them for me for Christmas and wasn't sure what I was going to do with them.  So as I am looking for stuff for this ACT creative adventure, I ran across them.  Eureka!  Totally awesome.  Embrace, Travels, Timeless, and Discover Adventure are some of the word stamps.  (She bought me 4 sets each contains 8 words).  Now that I have rediscovered them-you will be seeing a lot more of them! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate your comments to!  Until next time my friends...stay crafty!

Wintery ATC's

Hello Everybody!

Do you still have snow on the ground where you live?  If you do, you have my condolences!  :)

On this first ATC I used Martha Stewart's texture effect.  On the trees I used some glossy accents to give them an icy feel.

On the second card I made a mono print on my gelli plate, and this card is cut from the print.  Sometimes when you walk out the door and it's snowing or raining, I'm like uh.  But you can't be like that.  You have to look past the weather and..."enjoy the journey."  :)

I made this card with a cool stamp I got a few months ago.  I embossed the image with black embossing powder and then used distress inks to give them that sun rise or sun set look.  Then I added my titles.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...spring is on the way!

ATC's of Love

Hello Everybody!

Today I am sharing some Valentine ATC's I made for a swap.  The bottom right one has an alcohol ink background.  The images are from Graphic Fairy.  The married couple in the first card is also from Graphic Fairy.  Love her!

I used all sorts of things-rub-ons, Tim H stickers, charms, Martha Stewarts butterfly punch and twine.  In the next couple of days I will share some more so be sure to stop by!

Until next time my friends...Shouldn't everyday be Valentine's Day? ;)

Irish Map ATC

Hello Everybody!

Ok I am back with one more ATC tonight.  I am entering it into the Digi Haven Challenge: Green.

The map is from Graphic Fairy and you can find it here.  I tore the edges around it and used walnut distress ink to age it.  Then I put it on a black ATC card.  I added a tag from DCWV with a clover rhinestone and a green ribbon.  I love this map!

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...it's time to wash my green shirt ;)

ATC's with Numbers

Hello Everybody!

Over the next week or so, I am going to share with you guys the ATC's I have been working on.  Whew-am I worn out too!

These two here are for the challenge at Simon Says Stamps and Show: By theNumbers.  Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift card so fingers crossed! ;)

The numbers are on the right side of the first card and bottom of the the second card.  Each card has two layers of pattern tissue (like from a McCall's Pattern).

The first card I used a Tim Holtz die cut for the spool and dress form.  The dress form is made out of a material swatch from K & C Company.  I added a button and the sentiment is from a stamp set that I received from Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  I love it when they send free stamps! :)

On the second card the sewing machine and dress form are from the same stamps as the sentiment.  I tried using a stamp from Tim H. Stampers Anonymous-one of the sewing stamps.  But it got blurry so I just "hung up some laundry."  LOL! :)  It's not totally hidden but it isn't showcased either.  Then I added some lace at the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Happy Springing Forward! :)

Green ATC's

Hello Everybody!

I am so glad to be posting something!  I feel like it has been a while.  My mojo is a little low on fuel.  I have been working on ATC's for a swap due very soon and now I think I am in panic mode!  LOL.

So I saw this week's challenge at Inkspirational which is to use shades of green and I was inspired.  Also, one of the DT's named Lisbeth made an awesome tag with gears and what nots so that got my gears going (haha!)  and here's is the product:

Ok here's the product!  ;)

I used stamps from Hampton.  They are all sort of steampunk which I am totally loving right now.  I know green should go with St. Patty's day but when I saw that cool tag-my gears started to move!  ;)  I also used various rub-ons which are from the Art Warehouse.  And the background gears here are from Prima.

The backgrounds are from Distress Inks.  The 1st and 3rd ATC's also has Perfect Pearls on them.  I had March on the bottom because really I can't believe it's March already!

I stamped this pretty lady on a dictionary page and then popped dotted her.  She is from Hampton Arts but the others are Tim Holtz and Gelatins (the circles are from a tree set).  And then my beautiful handwriting that if it were a font they would call in chicken scratch ;)

Ok, well as these card denote-time is a ticking and I have many more ATC's to make.  :)  Thank you for stopping by and for all of  your sweet comments!  Until next time my friends...Big Hugs!

Embroider

Hello Everybody!

I hope everybody had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  I did-it was nice and low key.

Time is ticking for the challenge at The Craft Barn but I finally have made my ATC for their Alphabet Challenge.  The letter now is E.  I chose the word embroider.  And that is what I did on this ATC.  I used a little walnut distress ink to better highlight my word plus I used a straight stitch to section off my word from the rest of the page.

Here's a close up.  The flowers and basket are from a design in the book Creative Embroidery on Paper by Erica Fortgens.  I had originally heard about sewing on paper from Ecstasy Crafts many moons ago.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends... I wonder what the next letter will be! :)

Boy Scouts Merit Badge Challenge

Hello Everybody!

This week's challenge at For Fun Challenges is Boy Scouts because February 8th is Boy Scout Day.  Now I will be honest-I don't know that much about boy or girl scouts (I wasn't a girl scout as a kid).  But after looking at this site here I am in awe of what Boy Scouts need to learn to earn badges.  Take a look (especially if you aren't familiar with the program like me).  Wow!  All different areas of expertise!

So for my project I made 3 ATC's.  The merit badges I covered are: hiking, nuclear science, and robotics.

Here are close ups of each card:

For the background on this ATC I used Dylusion Sprays and stickers.  Below is a close up of the park map sticker.  After I made this I realized that there was a separate badge for backpacking.  So I was more careful with the next two! ;)

This ATC background comes for a chemistry book page (195 to be exact) ;)  A while back I picked up a chemistry book for free.  And now I was able to use it!  Yay!  I adhered the piece of the text book page to the ATC base and I used red and yellow distress inks around the edges.  Nuclear is from the book also and the letters are Authentique.  The black circles at the bottom are Prima rub-ons.

And this is the Robotics ATC card.  Here I used Tim Holtz gears from the Sizzix die and the robot and sentiment are from The Alley Way Stamps.  I used silver embossing powder on the robot and perfect pearls.

I put some perfect pearls on the sentiment too.

I hope that you will play along too!  There are lots of badges to choose from-so let your creativity run wild!

Until next time my friends...have a fantastic day! :)

C is for Cage

Hello Everybody!

I made this ATC for the Alphabet challenge going on at The Craft Barn.  The letter is C for this challenge.  I used the word cage.  I built a little cage on my ATC card using jewerly wire.  At the top I tied some ribbons and a little twine.  I also used a Tim Holtz bird charm and colored it with alcohol inks.  The bird can actually "fly" when you move the card back and forth :)

Here is a straight on view.  The background is inked with TH Distress Inks and I did a white embossing resist with the swirly stamp.

Here is a side view.  I was trying to capture the 3-D effect of the cage.  (good thing this isn't a photo contest) ;)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...it's time to fly! ;)
