Tag of Time

Hello Everybody!

I did something different this evening.  I made a tag and it was soooo much fun!  I have seen a lot of tags being made lately and when the folks over at Simon Says Stamp and Show are having a tag challenge---how could I not?

There is a new challenge blog also, called Frilly and Funkie.  Their first challenge is to show them your vintage style.  So I am linking this tag with them also--to show that I am a little more funkie than frilly ;)

Also, I am going to link up with Unique Crafters Challenge-another new challenge blog.  Their first challenge is Anything Goes!

So without any further ado...here is my tag.  Scroll down and I'll show you some of the things I did!

This is my first time making a tag for a challenge.  So taking pictures of this was not so easy!

Here is my tag.  I cut the tag with the Cricut (George cartridge) using white cardstock.  I inked it with many different distress inks--broken china, blue jeans, vintage photos, barnyard doors, and I think worn lipstick and a rusty color.  Then I used different stamps and stamped some of the background.  The polka dots (and there are 2 different kinds) are Close to my heart stamps.  The clock at the bottom was from the $1 bin at Michaels.  I stamped the images with Distress Inks.

I have Egyptian stamps from a loooooooooooong time ago.  I bought them at Joanne's for $2 and I think Plaid company made them.  Anyway's I know think they are cool again and had to use them.  You don't see a lot of Egyptian stuff, so even I my tag I wasn't sure about my mummy.  But you can't learn if you don't try!

So here is a close up of the main tag.  At the top are rub-ons from a Swatch Book from Art Warehouse.  There are a couple of stamps from Tim Holtz like the clock in the middle and the square design.  The quote is also his.

Here is a close up of the quote.  I used some masking to keep the quote from getting messy.

This butterfly is made from alcohol inks and photo paper.  I used a Martha Stewart punch.  And this metal star I fell in love with it at Joanne's.  There are like 2 or 3 more so you'll see it again! ;)  Oh and those little read stickers are from Cosmo Cricket.

Also, I used some Gold Distress Stickles so there are little bits of gold glitter on my tag.  You can kind of see is on the red letters.  Using my favorite gold leafing pen, I outlined the tag.

Here's my tag hanging.  I used an assortment of fibers for the top.

Here my tag again.  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...enjoy your time :)

Lookout... you won't be able to go back now that you've made your first challenge tag! It came out great. I love all your stamping and that gorgeous AI butterfly. the pop of color with the word 'timeless' at the bottom is such a great touch, and the dangling star is the icing on top of the cake. Thanks so much for joining in our first Frilly & Funkie challenge!

Super terrific tag. I love the blend of inks and stamps - wonderful imagery. Those red stickers make such a perfect pop of color and really steal the show along with that fabulous filigree metal star. I haven't seen any like that before and it is really fab. Super job on your first tag. We are so happy you played along with us this week at Frilly and Funkie. Hope you will be a regular - thanks so much for posting our badge.
