January Tag 2015

Hello Everybody!

Nothing like a little procrastination to start the New Year off right-I finally made the Tim Holtz January Tag.  But I am gonna say...better late than never! :)

I love the look of Tim's tag which you can see here.  To me it's like distress glamour.  I had most of the supplies for this.  Some differences are I have the first tissue paper that came out with the notes and butterflies.  Then I don't have brass distress glitter so I substituted.  Also, some of my chitchat words are different because I had used some in earlier projects.  And then I have the old labels-not the circle ones but I will be on the lookout for those.  Lastly, my placement is a little off because I didn't plan for the arrow and label when I placed the chitchat words.

The coolest thing in that I learned I could use the Krylon marker with the spritzer.  This is just super cool!

I am linking this up to the following:

Thank you for stopping by today!  I am excited to see February's tag!

Until next time my friends...Happy 2015! :)

A Valentine's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

Whew!-I have a second post for today-yay! :)  I was very inspired by the sketch over at Let's Scrap.  I love how it looks so different-but it's really an easy sketch.  I also bought some new paper (though I shouldn't but I did*sigh*).  It's My mind's Eye 6x6 paperpack and it was one sale.  Did I mention it was Valentine's paper?  LOL--Here's my card:

The sentiment and embossing powder are both Stampin Up.  It's the first time that I used Stampin Up Embossing Powder.  I used a static bag and versamark and after I poured the ep-it was fairly clean of radical ep particles.  That never happens.  So I can't wait to use this combo again.  Maybe it was just luck ;)

Here is a closeup of the diamonds.  I used Crystal Stickles around the diamonds.

And here is the sketch that was my inspiration.  :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...stay inspired! :)

Happy Birthday Card

Hello Everybody!

I wanted to stop by and show everybody a cute little card I made for a cute little girl.

The stamp is from Adam Pescott and Cardmaking and Paper craft magazine.  When you subscribe they send a little gift.  (Love that!)  I think the papers that I used are also from a gift from a different issue.  I used Copic Markers to color the kitty image.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends..stay warm! :)

Touch a Truck Layout

Hello Everybody!

At Stick It Down we are doing things a little differently in 2015.  On the First of the Month we are sharing all of the sketches for the month.  So if you go there now you will see the Single Page, Double Page, and the Card sketches for January.  And now you get the whole month to finish your projects!  That is so fun and exciting and I hope you will have more time to come over and play!

So here is my take on this month's sketch:

Every year we got to an event where the kids can sit in the trucks and blow the horns or get an upclose look at construction and fire trucks.  It's a lot of fun.

I am excited that I used some stickers (letters and the truck) that I have had for a loooong time.

And while I'm talking about supplies that I have had for awhile-there is a new for fun challenge called Crash Your Stash.  And it's a personal challenge to do a number of pages/projects before you buy more supplies.  My goal is 25.  (I hope to have that done by March--that's when the Scrapbook Expo is coming to town!) ;)  So for me this is 2/25.  :)

So at Stick It Down we can't wait to see what you create!  Until next time my friends...keep scrappin!

Snowflakes and Fun!

Hello Everybody!

Happy 2015!  Are you ready for another year of fun and craftiness?  I am! :)

Over at Scrap It Girl the new challenge for January is Snowflakes!  So make sure there is one or more snowflakes on your paper crafting project.

I made a layout using the Tim Holtz mover and shaker snowflakes that my sister got for me for Christmas.  (awesome thank you!)

I also had some puffy stickers from MAMBI (the believe and swirls on the sides).  The paper is from DCWV.  Under the picture I used light modeling paste and a brick stencil.  The title is a font that I used on the silhouette.

Here are the snowflakes.  I used Cloud Nine Glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle on sticky tape after I cut out the snowflakes.

I would like to link this layout up to the following challenges:

Crash Your Stash!--My goal is to do 25 projects before buying more scrappy things-this is my first project toward that goal. :)

I can't wait to see your snowflakes!

Until next time my friends...stay warm! :)

Glitter Butterfly for the New Year

Hello Everybody,

Happy New Year!  2015!  So exciting!  Are you ready?  ;)

Well I hope one of your resolutions is to either be more crafty or to make more cards--LOL!  House of Cards is the right place for you!  Once a month there is a challenge for your card-and you just have to link up!  Check out the site for the rules then for this month get your glitter out--it's time to sprinkle! ;)

Here is my card.  This is the first time I made a gate fold card.  I embossed the "doors" and used my new Silouette (thank you hubby!) to cut the butterfly.  Then I used a thin glue and sprinkled a micro glitter on the butterfly.  The paper for the butterfly, stamp, and ink (eggplant envy) are from Stampin' Up.

Here's a closeup of the butterfly.

And here is the inside.

I was in a clean and simple mood-but you can use any style you like.

Until next time my friends..,Happy New Year!  Let's make it a crafty one! :)
