Happy Mother's Day!

 Hello Everybody!

This is a little early but it doesn't matter--Happy Mother's Day to all of the mamas out there :) I hope you all have a great day!

This card is for my mama. :) I hope she likes it-I know I certainly do LOL.

So for my husband bought me salvaged patina distress and oxide ink pads. I couldn't believe it.  He also got me the wreaths you see here. So I used patina, flamingo, and twisted green on the background. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and a wet paper towel to lift up some areas. On the wreath is the twisted citron and wilderness. The little flowers are from another Tim Holtz die set and so are the letters spelling out mom. The big bird in the middle is from an old Tim die with a bird cage. It's colored with Mermaid Lagoon. And the sentiment is from the metallic sticker book. The only thing no Tim's is the gems in the middle of the flowers and those are Katia Studio.

Vintage-y Birthday Card

 Hello Friends!

I made this fun card for a friend of mine. She's got a an awesome heart and loves Jesus-so the sentiment is perfect.

Here's the card:

I stamped images on the cardstock paper and used walnut stain around the edges. The frame is so cool. It's a Tim Holtz frame that I added Finnabair rust pastes too. The inside is a ephemera from Tim Holtz. There are some flowers there that are Tim's also.

This metal sentiment is a Tim Holtz thing as well.

And lastly, this paper doll is Tim Holtz. However the cross she is holding is from a mold I bought from Michaels and painted with sparks paint from finnabair. I love this paint! :)

Summer Time Mixed Media Canvas

 Hello Everybody!

I love summertime! So to kick it off a little early I made this 4 x 4 (inches) canvas.

The trees are paper clay and a Finnabair mold. I painted them with golden paints and used a finnabair vintage gold was to highlight.

On the canvas is finnabair patina paste/paint. I glue shells and a sand dollar and painted them with different finnabair sparks paint. It is so pretty! It's translucent so you don't loose the shell like with an opaque paint. I filled in the spaces with silver micro beads. On the island I used a sand and glue product from a company called muddpuddles. And some word stickers from Tim Holtz-upon a shore.

Anniversary Card

 Hello Everybody!

Today I am sharing a card I made for my husband for our 13th wedding anniversary.

I used Tim Holtz's embossing folder, and 4 leaf clover  embossed die, quote chip, and the hardware heads. I used a little black soot distress ink around the clover. And a little rustic wilderness around the quote chip before I put some gold wax from finnabair around it. I also used the gold wax on the four leaf clover. For the embossed cardstock I used brocade finnabair wax. The card stock was just plain brown before-and it's always cool to see it come to life.

The lace in the middle is something I had floating around my desk from another project. For the 13th anniversary lace is part of the old tradition and textiles is part of the modern gift giving tradition. We aren't lacey people so this worked perfectly. :)

Positively Periwinkle

 Hello Friends!

Happy May 1st!  New Month New Color over at the Rainbow Challenge!

This month it is periwinkle.

And here is the card I made using periwinkle. I made a 5 x 5 card.

For the paper I used Stampin Up Brocade Blue. And the flowers are Tim Holtz that I sprayed with stormy sky distress oxide spray.

Those cages! I bought a new die cut by Sizzix and the birds and the chains and the cages all come in the die cut. There are even more birds and another cage. I embossed them with platinum powder from Ranger. And the birds are cut out from glitter paper.

The sentiment is a a Taylored Expressions hello die cut that I die cutted 3 times and glued them together to give it some dimension. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire for that :)

We hope you join us! This challenge is opened for the whole month of May.

Also, Happy Scrapbook Day! :)
