Happy Easter!

Hello Friends!

Happy Easter!  He IS Risen!  I hope that love and joy are in your hearts today.  Jesus has Risen and is Alive!

Usually I'm at church on Easter Sunday.  This year is different and that is ok.  The quarantine is to be safe.  In my prays-I pray for safety for nurses, doctors, grocery works, drivers, researchers and all those who are on the front line.  I pray for healing for the patients and peace and love for their families.  I pray for strength and for a breakthrough.  I am thankful to God because it is through Him that we are able to work through this. Amen

I finished my Lenten journey with 40 cards.  A friend of mine asked if I would help make cards for our church members.  I said sure.  How many do we need?  The hardest part is postage.  She said there would be me, her and two other ladies from church to make cards. We would need to make 39 a piece.  I rounded up :)

25-65/40

This card uses the following: Darice embossing folder (cross), Redeemer embossing folder by Taylored Expressions, Stampin Up Lovely Lilac paper, Recollections white cardstock, vellum.

On the inside I used a Stampabilities sentiment:

Here's my box of 40 :)

Out of this World

Hello Friends!

24/40 This card is for a friend of mine's son who can't have a birthday party because of the quarantine.  I hope he has a great day despite it being different than what he thought it would be. :)

I made a space background with distress oxides, water and white paint.  The rest are stamps by Lawn Fawn.  I used the out of this world for the sentiment and the aliens, cake, presents, and the ship are from beam me up. The moon is from the Silhouette Design Store and then I used distress oxide over it.

I colored the images with my Prismacolor markers.  I am so thankful that my husband got them for me at Christmas.  I think there are 72 colors.  More than I have ever had before lol.

Thinking of You Card

Hello Friends!

I have card 23/40 today! I used a card from the Amy Butler K&Company card set I have been using-yay!

I used vanilla cardstock from Stampin UP to make the flower on my Silhouette.  It's a Paige Evans cut file that I bought from the Silhouette Store and I just love it.  The sentiment is from a Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.  It's S C Design by Simone Clay.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends Stay Healthy! :)

Miss You Card

Hello Friends!

22/40  I made this card for a friend of mine in town that I usually see at church.  So I made her this card to let her know I was thinking about her.  And then I got to talk to her Saturday-so that was a sweet treat! :)

I think the background is probably a Tim Holtz product.  It has been so long since I made the background that I seriously cannot remember if I used paint or inks.  It's pretty dark so I'm thinking paint.  Then everything else is Tim's--paperdolls, ephemera, the sentiments and definitely some distress oxide ink on the sentiments.

Happy Quarantine O Ween

Hello Friends!

It feels like it has been awhile.  It seems like washing dishes, using dishes to make food, eating, and then starting the cycle over seems to be a bit time consuming.  LOL.  Don't forget putting away dishes!

On March 31st I had a celebration called Quarantine O'ween.  I had seen a meme on Facebook and thought it was hilarious.  I made cupcakes that my family enjoyed and it gave us something to look forward to.  Quarantine O ween was on a Tuesday.  On the Sunday before I had the idea to make cards and send them to some friends and family.  I made 16 cards.

The germ was cut on my silhouette and the sentiment is from my printer.  I used stickles for that fun glittery effect.  And they backgrounds are different folders I have that I used with black cardstock.  I put the name company of the embossing folder under each card.

Simple Thanks Card

Hello Friends,

I have a simple Thank You card to share with you this evening.  It's from the Amy Butler collection from K & Company.  This is card 5/40.

The card base and paper are from K & Company.  I used Simon Says Stamp die for the sentiment and some scraps.  And Studio Katia icy sparkle crystals (these are so fun!).

So here is a total side thing.  The pack of base cards has 24 cards in it.  I bought this pack and a matching paper mat set a looooonnnngggg time ago.  And I am challenging myself to use this all up!

But the funny thing is that 2 of the bases are missing because I used them (Yay!).  You can see them here.  They are part of a Leap Blog so they are Leap 5 and Leap 31.  That's not what's funny though.  LOL.  The date is what is funny.  I made those cards in March of 2012.  Yeah like 8 years ago.  So who knows when I bought these-maybe 2011?  Maybe earlier.  So there is no doubt that it is time for them to be made into cards and sent to new homes.  :)

Smile a Whole Lot More Card

Hello Friends!

I am sharing my 2nd card out of my 40 cards I am making for Lent. You can read more about that here.

I used one felt flower and a heart brad and 3 little paper flowers and 3 little brads from my stash.  I always feel like a rock star when I use things I have had for a while. :)  I like the pop of color the flowers added.

The card base is from Amy Butler /K and Company.  Clear embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi and the stencil is Dylusions. And the the sentiment is from Stampin Up-not super old the set is Friendly Conversation.

Thanks Card

Hi Friends!

On my Instagram I showed a pack of cards and corresponding papers that I have had Forever.  And I am finally going to bust this stash! That's my goal anyway.

It's part of another goal-so I will tell you quickly.  In years past I have observed Lent-I'm Christian and more specifically Episcopalian. We have Ash Wednesday services and Holy Week services.  This year I couldn't figure out what to "give up" for Lent.  Or add as some people add something like kindness or collect one item a day to give away to charity.  My dear sweet father-in-law passed away also.  And then the corona virus which is a daily saga all in itself-my mind has been all over the place.

Then I think oh yeah it's Lent-and Easter is coming soon.  And the 40 days still hung onto my heart and would appear in my mind.  What to do?

So I work in one of the best places on Earth.  Although it is a small workplace-it is quite mighty.  And everyone there sent cards, and food, and surrounded me and my family with love.  So as a cardmaker I must send them thank you cards.  In addition of course to our  family members and friends who were very loving and mindful during this time in our life.

So I am going to be making lots of thank you cards and other cards because that's what we do. :)  So to fulfill my Lent "obligation" I am going to make 40 cards before Easter.  And a portion of those cards will be made from this set I bought a long time ago.

Here is the first card.  I used a card base from the Amy Butler pack, vellum, rinestones, cardstock, and a pink paper from the corresponding mat stack.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp-and it's seriously one of my favorite dies.
