Owl Christmas Card

Happy Friday Everybody!!

This is a cute card that I am entering into Wee Memories: WMC#77  Woodland Animals

Their main logo is an owl (very cute too I may add).  The rules said they especially wanted to see owls.  So I have been obsessing over owls in my head!

So I obsess no more!  Here is my card!  To see what I did, please scroll down....

On my base card I used a corner rounder.  It's amazing the effect of a corner rounder...

Then I covered the front with this Christmas tree paper from Reminisce (called O Christmas Tree).  I rounded the corners before I adhered it to the base card.

Now to make my owl.  Originally, I was going to stamp him on white paper and color him in.  But I wanted to do something different than that.  So I have this paper from Tim Holtz, and decided I would make his body from this which is Christmas sheet music.

Here's my owl.  I don't know what company he is from but I got him from Michael's a year or so ago.

I center the stamp to make sure I get the title of the song for the owl's body.  "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" is the song and it even has the words to it!

After a few tries I mark on the back where the song is and then I trim out using some of the stamp outlines.  I kinda don't know which is which so I cut and hope :)

Next I restamp the owl so I can cut out his eyes and beak.  I'm going to piece my owl stamp together.

He needs legs!  I cut a piece of quilling paper and fold it into a V.

Here is the back of the owl.  I put a glue dot and put his legs on.  For the eyes I make sure they don't cover the title of the song.

I set the owl to the side.  I put red velvet ribbon on my card to look like a present.  I used Large Zots to adhere it.

Now it's time to pick out the owl's eyes....so many eyes!  Also, I just a black Copic marker to darken the beak.

I put this sticker on white paper and cut it out.  Then I put it inside the card.

After putting the owl on the front with glue dots, it is now time for one last finishing touch...A Santa Hat!  Look at how cute these are!  Don't be surprise if you see these pop up somewhere else!

And that is how I got here :)  Until next time my friends...."Owl see you later"!!
