Hello Everybody!

There's a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  So get out your stash-we want to see Brads, Bling, and Buttons!

Here is what I have created for the challenge:

The gold color behind the picture is Viva Inka-Gold.  The picture is lined with bling that you cut off of the sheets.  The hat is a die cut from my Cricut a long time ago.  And the picture below shows the buttons and brads.

I even got to use a heart tag from my stash that a friend gave me.  Yay! :)

And I must show you the awesome prize:

You can enter 2 times.  You can make a scrapbook page or card or mixed media piece as long as it follows the brads, bling, and buttons challenge.

We can't wait to see what you'll create!

Until next time my friends! :)

Scrap It Girl New Challenge!

Hello Everybody!

Get out your embroidery floss and sewing needles--it's time for the new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  This month the challenge is to have sewing on your project.  Be sure to check to the site to see the awesome prize that goes with this month's winner!

Here is my scrapbook layout:

I used my We R Memory Keepers sewing kit thing to make these 2 stitches at the top:

The buttons are faux--I just put embroidery thread through the buttons and then I glued those on.  But I am always happy when I can put buttons on a project. :)

Thank you for stopping by!  We can't wait to see what you make!

Until next time my friends...just so you know...you are sew special! :)

Black, White, and Bright Pink Layout

Hello Everybody!

Happy April 1st!  I can't believe we are in the 4th month of 2015 already!  But what is fun about a new month?  New challenges!  Woo!  Hoo!  And the challenge at Scrap It Girl is to do a project using black, white, and one other color.

My 3rd color was hot pink or bright pink.  I had a lot of fun making this layout using a picture of my favorite little niece. :)

I used picked raspberry distress paint for the Tim Holtz tissue paper.  I had put in on my mat and spritzed water.  I pulled the black cardstock background paper through what little was left and those are the faint spots here and there.  They are still pink.  I was pleasantly surprised!

I used Viva's Ferro graphite for the black paste areas.  I used light modeling paste for the white hearts (heidi swapp stencil).  I found this white tulle in my stash and how lucky it was white!  The corners and pink hearts are from Thickers (and the true color inspiration for this layout).  Then I had to use pink rhinestones.  :)

Be sure and stop by Scrap It Girl and see what my teammates create.  So much beauty and inspiration!

Until next time my friends...Live in Color! :)

Selfie Challenge

Hello Everybody!

There is such a cool challenge going on at Scrap It Girl for March.  It's about selfies.  It can have just you or you with somebody.  I love this because we (often the people behind the camera) need to be in the pictures and on our scrapbook pages.

I also have a slight inflated sense of self-so that helps out also--hehe just kidding (ok it could be true.)

So here is my take on the Selfie challenge.

I used a Prima background paper sheet and then used a Prima stencil with like modeling paste.  There are also spots and splotches from a Tim Holtz stencil I have.  And then some random stamping.  The butterfly is from Martha Stewart and given to me by my mom-in-law.  I took this picture of my son and I.  There is a cool feature on my camera where it makes the hues light so I was just playing around but I really like how this came out.

I hope you play along!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time my friends...time to go take some more selfies-it's March! :)

Hello Everybody!

It's the 1st of February so that means it's time for a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  The challenge this month is to use the color blue and arrows.

Here is my layout:

This was such a fun layout to create.  There's stamping, paste and even some scraps!  There's some Tim Holtz, K&Company, and 7 Gypsies to name a few.

I bought a new metal stencil for this layout.  I used some T.H. walnut stain to mix with the light modeling paste-but that made the paste a little watery.  So you can see where some of the arrows bleed a little bit.  But I thought it added character.  And then the cork arrows are from Fancy Pants.

Be sure to stop by Scrap It Girl to see the rest of the DT's projects-they are so inspiring!  While you are there check out the fantastic prize!

Until next time my friends...have a great day! :)

Snowflakes and Fun!

Hello Everybody!

Happy 2015!  Are you ready for another year of fun and craftiness?  I am! :)

Over at Scrap It Girl the new challenge for January is Snowflakes!  So make sure there is one or more snowflakes on your paper crafting project.

I made a layout using the Tim Holtz mover and shaker snowflakes that my sister got for me for Christmas.  (awesome thank you!)

I also had some puffy stickers from MAMBI (the believe and swirls on the sides).  The paper is from DCWV.  Under the picture I used light modeling paste and a brick stencil.  The title is a font that I used on the silhouette.

Here are the snowflakes.  I used Cloud Nine Glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle on sticky tape after I cut out the snowflakes.

I would like to link this layout up to the following challenges:

Crash Your Stash!--My goal is to do 25 projects before buying more scrappy things-this is my first project toward that goal. :)

I can't wait to see your snowflakes!

Until next time my friends...stay warm! :)

All Wrapped Up!

Hello Everybody!

There's a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  Since it's December (already!) and there are lots of gifts to be wrapped-how fun is it to show us something that's all wrapped up!  You can show a gift wrap project, a Christmas gift on a card, and scrapbook layout with a gift, or a home made gift bag or box that you create.

I decorated a bag for this challenge.  I started with this little bag.

Then I cut a sheet of designer paper from a Craft Smith paper pad (I love these vintage Christmas papers!).  And there's a sheet of tags so I cut out the Believe.  I added some rub-ons and stickers and one stamp to the left side of the bag.  And on Santa's hat I used Stickles for his holly.

Here's a closeup:

Thank you for stopping by today!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time my friends--Wrap it up! :)

New Challenge at Scrap It Girl

Hello Everybody!

Now that Halloween is over-Thanksgiving and Christmas are no doubt well on their way!  I always hope that I can enjoy this busy time of year!

So with a new month there is a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  This month the challenge is to use gelatos, water colors, or other paint.

I went simple for this challenge.  I saw gelatos, and it was nice to get to use them.  It's been awhile. :)

I embossed a piece of white cardstock.  I 2 blue gelatos for this card-cotton candy and a blue one that has a little sprarkle to it.  I painted over the embossed panel.  The sentiment is a sticker from Hobby Lobby.

Here is the panel before.  I think I better go back and make a few more in different colors.  You can always use birthday (and thank you) cards!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out this month's challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create! :)  Until next time my friends....time to paint!

You and Jack Layout

Hello Everybody!

Can you believe how fast September has gone?  I cannot.  Do you have your costume, Thanksgiving, and your presents wrapped?  Haha!  Now time is really going to go fast! ;)

So there is a new fun challenge at Scrap It Girl.  This month we want to see you use embossing folders on your projects.

Here is my layout:

This layout is from the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disneyworld.  My little guy doesn't normally go around in a Mario costume (though if he did I would be accepting). :)  He loves Captain Jack Sparrow so here we are! :)

For the red paper I used black soot distress ink and the Distressed Background Stamp from Great Impressions.

I used the compass embossing folder from Tim Holtz for this here.  I painted it with perfect pearls.  Also, you see that pumpkin?  That is from Provo-Craft from a long time ago.  It's a rusted pumpkin.  I saw different shapes at a thrift store.  I had not seen them before but I am glad I have used one now! :)

I trimmed a scrap and used the bubble wrap embossing folder from Tim H. and distressed it with black soot distress ink.

I bought a set of those words Tim has just recently.  They deboss.  I don't know what I was expecting.  (I think it's cooler when he uses it) LOL! ;)  The I trimmed the paper and distressed with black soot distress ink-so I like this better now. :)

Oh--and another thing-it's my turn to host this month's challenge. Here's the prize!  Link up-this fun set of goodies could be yours! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Hope to see your embossed entry soon! --Hugs!

Water Day ULD Layout

Hello Everybody!

Today's post brings together an awesome embellishment company and a couple of awesome challenges!  Since today is the first of the month--it's a new challenge at Scrap It Girl.  Yay!  And this month we are all about arrows!  And speaking of a great embellishment company-it's my turn at the Unique Laser Designs Blog.  :)

So let me show you the coolest arrows out there!  These arrows are made by Unique Laser Designs.

Here's my layout.  Most of the papers, feathers, and letters are from Bella Blvd.

For the arrows I painted them with Tim Holt'z Distress Paints.  The colors I used were: mustard seed, chipped sapphire, picked raspberry, peeled paint, and spiced marmalade.  The green arrow paper is pop dotted up so I glued one half of the arrow on the paper.

Here is the Happy Brick that I used.  The other bricks I will save for a different day!  The heart is from Fancy Pants.  (Yes those big 12 by 12 things of felt pieces.  I still have lots.)

Here's where I put the swirl.  I was inspired to put the swirl there because of the sketch that I used.

Here's my journaling square.  I used a Fiskars punch for the side.  Look-more fun ULD arrows!

Here is the sketch that inspired this layout.  I am linking up to Let's Get Sketchy July Week 4.

Thank you for stopping by!  Remember to link up to our Arrows challenge at Scrap It Girl and check out Unique Laser Designs!

Until next time my friends...have a great weekend! :)

New Scrap It Girl Challenge!

Hello Everybody!

How did July get here so fast?  Since today is the 1st-it is time for a new challenge at Scrap It Girl.  It's a color challenge:  Red, Cream, Blue and Kraft!

Here is my patriotic card.  I used paper from Creative Imaginations and the stamps for USA are from Autumn Leaves.  I stamped them on kraft paper and used Not Quite Navy Stampin' Up ink.

We can't wait to see what you create! :)

Until next time my friends...have a great day!

Things With Wings

Hello Everybody!

Whew!  June 1st already!  Time for summer!  :)  Over at Scrap It Girl we are celebrating things with wings.

I made this card.  For the background I put mustard seed distress ink and then I used cleared embossing powder on the stamp along the side (Tim Holtz).  This is one of my favorite stamps fyi!  Because I used clear embossing powder you can see the variation in the ink-which is what I wanted.  Then I stamped the flowers (tim holtz) with dusty concord distress ink and put clear embossing powder on it.  So fun!

I used a musical stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle in the background and the dots are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.  Then with silver colorbox ink, I used a Tim Holtz stars stencil to add to the background.

I used Tim Holtz seedless perserves paint and glitter on the bird.  And then the sentiment is from Dylusions.  A new stamp set that I am finally using-yay!  :)  I added Tim Holtz stars too.  I don't know what it is about those little stars but they are awesome.

I am linking this card to the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: The Artsy Stamp.

Please come join us!  We can't wait to see what you create! :)

Until next time my friends...it's time to fly away!

Out in Nature Layout

Hello Everybody!

There's a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  The challenge is to do a project for Mothers or Mother Earth.  How fun is that!

So I went with Mother Nature for this layout.  My son is even wearing a shirt that says Love Your Mother and then there is the Earth.  I love it when a plan comes together! :)

Here are a few close ups:

This circle is from a DCWV paper pad, the bird is K&Company, and the arrow is from Fancy Pants.  The 3 I received in a package.

Papers are from Jillibean Soup, My Mind's Eye, Bella Blvd, Coredinations Cardstock.  The green embossed tree paper-it has just been in my paper stash forever.  ;)  The birds on a line are a washi tape from Recollections.

These birds are Tim Holtz rubons.

More Tim rub-ons and the light modeling paste was mixed with green tea Gelato to achieve this color.  I used a Heidi Swapp stencil.

I am also submitting this layout to Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #6.

This is their sketch.  Also there is a twist-use an old item and a new item and use them together.  My old item is the Out in Nature title banner and the leaf picture die cut.  My newest items are the 3 Tim Holtz Remnants (rub-ons).

I cut the banner off of the sheet of die cuts.  This is from SEI from 2002.  Yeah, that's over 10 years old!  The leaf is from Colorbok.  It doesn't have a year on the package but trust me-I have a whole pack of these leaves, and they have been here awhile!

So I used a distressing tool to rough up the edges and inked the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress ink.  Welcome to the 21st century old banner ;)

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Until next time my friends...Happy May!

Tag Time!

Hello Everybody!

Today starts a new challenge at Scrap It Girl-Tags and Bags!  I chose to do a tag.  But you can do a bag or and tag and bag!  :)

Here is my tag in it's little pocket.  Lot's of Tim Holtz stuff going on here ;)  But scroll down so you can see the rest of the tag!

Super cool, right?  (toot too!)  I do love how this turned out.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Paints for the background and dusty concorde distress ink around the edges.  Everything is Tim's except the Recollections washi tape and that cool note.

The note is from Unique Laser Designs.  I gessoed it and then used seedless reserves and pewter Tim DP to paint it.

The happy birthday is white embossing powder.  The ribbon is crinkle ribbon using mostly dusty concord distress stain.

I made the pocket on my Cricut using the Going Places cartridge.  I glued Tim Holtz's tissue paper to the front using modge podge.  Then with distress inks (scattered straw, picked raspberries, and salty ocean) I inked the front.  The stamps is Tim's too.  I stamped it on the tissue paper before the ink.  Then I restamped it on white cardstock and cut out the cupcake.  I colored the cupcake with Copics and pop dotted it.

Here is the prize for this months's Tags and Bags Challenge.  Thanks Amanda for these awesome goodies!

I hope you will come and join us!

I am submitting this birthday tag into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends--it's cupcake time! ;)

To Be a Princess

Hello Everybody!

Happy March!  It's time for a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  This month it's about Birthdays. Check out the DT's projects, too.  They have done a fantastic job with birthday cards and layouts.  I hope you join us!

Here is my layout.  I was in a mixed media mood.  :)  I have some close up pictures so I can show you what I did.

Here is my title.  I used rub-ons from Joanne's for all of it except Princess.  I used some K&Company (Tim Coffey) letters from an Aquatic range I think.  These are chipboard.

This lace is on the left hand side and it is pretty wide.  I layed it on the cardstock and applied gesso to it.  Then I took Cotton Candy Gelato and added water to it and then painted over the gesso.  I like the light color it added to the lace.

I have pages from a book that I tore out.  The original book is for an altered art book.  So I glued one of those pages to the cardstock and applied gesso so the words would come through a little bit.  Then using one of Tim Holtz's stencils I added light modeling paste.

The border punch and white flower are from Martha Stewart.  The big swirl bling is from Queen and Company.  Sequin flowers are also Martha Stewart.

Here you can see some of the dots from the light modeling paste.  I brushed a little peacock feathers here and there on them.  Peacock Feathers was a perfect match to the cake in the picture.  Crazy!  Here is a key.  And some of the sunshine rays from a Tim Holtz stencil and peacock feathers.

Here's a close up of the picture.  My husband was able to get me this cake after we worked a Food and Wine party at Epcot.  (I will scrap that story at a later time.  Long story-short)  It was my birthday and the party itself is truly a treat.  Then there is an after party for Chefs and those who work the party.  So we went and then out comes this beautiful cake.  I was so surprised!  Cinderella is my favorite princess so this was very magical to me! :)  And here she is in white chocolate!

I am submitting this to the Paste Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.  I used light modeling paste on with the bubble wrap Tim Holtz Stencil.

Here is what is funny too-this is the first time I used this sunburst stencil from Tim Holtz.  I was looking at things on the ol' internet and realized that I was inspired (subconsciously) by Kimberly's layout for February.  How fun is that!  :)

So Happy Birthday to me!  LOL  :)  I can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time my friends...time for cake!
