Saint Patrick's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

I still have a few more St. Patty Day cards to make!  Thankfully, Laurel at Inspired By has a great inspiration picture to get my juices flowing....

I used the streamers as inspiration for my shamrocks.  I stamped each one and colored it with a green Copics marker.  I layered the strips of light green shamrocks paper on the bottom.  I used my slice to cut the scalloped oval and used a G Studio stamp (love this stamp!) for the sentiment.

Here's a close up of the bottom half of the card.  I used my gold leaf pen to outline the oval.  Love that gold!

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...there's still a little time to make some Saint Patrick's Day cards!

Spring Card

Hello Everybody!

I have a 2nd card I am happy to share with you tonight.  I am entering it into 2 challenges.

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger--which is this picture.  I was inspired by the colors.

The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches help me put it all together.  Here is the sketch for challenge FMS25:

Here's my card.  The blue and peach cardstock are Bazzill.  The printed paper, ribbon, and flower are from DCWV.  The DCWV product is from a spring collection I bought a loooonnnngggg time ago.  And I still use it.  It was definitely a great buy.  Oh and I almost forgot the stamp is from MSE that I got at Christmas.  This is the first time I have used it--Yay!

So I thought this was a nice card to make to honor spring time.  I love this time of year!  Until next time my friends....happy spring :)

Hello Friend

Hey Everybody!

Hope you are having a good weekend.  My hubby and I did yard work yesterday and are relaxing today! :)  As a matter of fact I am hearing him and our son chant "Let's go Celtics!"  :)  Good Times!

So while they are watching the basketball game, I was playing!  I created this card for the challenge over at Moxie Fab:  Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  There's still a little time to play so go check it out--after you see my card of course!  :)

Here are the stamps I used for the background.  I got them a few years ago at a CKU.  They are from Stephanie Barnard.  I don't know if they still make stamps like this but these are cool because the backsides show the design also.

So here is how they turned out.  I stamped directly on the card.  Then I added a few more swirlies.  I heat embossed them.  I love that process--they turn like magic!

I had this blue in my scrap stash and just had to make it fit.  The torn edges were already there-perfect!  Also, the sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Until next time my friends...beat those winter blues!  Spring time is around the corner! :)

This card's gone to the dogs! ;)

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I made a card for Just For Fun Challenges.  The challenge is to use a cat or dog as the main focus.  That's a challenge for me because I don't usually use furry friends on my cards.  Scrapbooking yes but generally for cards...no.  And I wanted to make sure I participated in this weeks challenge because last week I ran out of time.

Last week was sponsored by K'n'K Designs.  And I missed it!  They have some really cute designs for digital stamps so go check 'em out!  (Reasonably priced too...and if you are saying why haven't you bought some...remember I can't buy any scrapbooking stuff until April 8th!)  :)

So here is my card...

The background is Reminisce and brown cardstock from Bazzill and red cardstock from Cricut.  The dog is a sticker from Imagination Project, Inc which I've had for a little bit of time...ok a big bit of time ;)  The sticker I put on a white piece of cardstock and then cut out the sticker.  I didn't want the dog sticker to get lost in the brown cardstock.

On the inside I used a hello friend stamp...

So get out your dogs and cats and come join in the fun!  Until next time...aarrfff!!  :)

Happy Halloween--2005

Hello Everybody!

Right now there is a use metal Challenge going on at Let's Scrap.  So I got out my Halloween stuff.  I have lots of metal embellishments there!

Here's the sketch....

This is the first time that I changed it up as much as I did.  I didn't have a CD or a tag to put on this layout.  So at first the witch was in that spot and then I moved her to the outside of the page because I thought it looked better there.

The paper-black is Recollections cardstock.  Orange polka dot--Making Memories  I don't know the green ooze brand but I got it at Michaels and had to use it.  I bought it a while back but it's so fun!

So here are some of my metal embellishments...

As I was looking at the witch, I thought about a door.  Well these are the only hinges I have and there are 3 different ones here in this package.  So I just used the smaller and midsize one together.  Sometimes you just have to make it up as you go along ;)

For the door I used my embossing stylus and a cutter and used the groove to make the embossed lines.  I used walnut Distress Inks to color the door and a brad for the door knob.  The door doesn't open.

For this page the bat (Tim Holtz) and the little trick or treat ghost are metal, too.

The swords are metal here and there is a metal bottle cap.  The key is Martha Stewart but I don't know if it's metal or plastic disguised and metal.  It was light in weight when I peeled it from the package.  Either way it still looks cool, and I'm glad I was able to use one!

Here's the close up of my journaling.

Close up of the swords and key.

This is the Karen Foster paper that my title was cut out of.  It was the perfect size!

Close up of my metal bottle cap--and so true!

Here's the whole layout.  Until next time my friends...have a ghoul night! ;)

Tidbit Tuesday--The Library

Hello Everybody!

I'm doing this post from my phone so I am curious to see what happens :)

Today I was at the library with my son and he likes books about trucks. So in another part of the shelf they had craft books for kids. Some are about memory books and beads. I couldn't resist and picked up this book...

They used maps to cover a box and why hadn't I thought of that? I checked out the book.

That's my tip for today...go to the kids part of the library and look at their craft books. There might be some inspiration there and the library is free...as long as you return your books on time! Until next time my friends...see you at the library!

Home is Where the Heart Is!

Hello Everybody!

I love the project I created this evening.  And I love that I get to share it with you guys!

I am submitting it to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show: use Tim Holtz's Ideaology line--Paper, Key, Metal Flower, Bird, Letters and the key, crown, and star at top, Stickles, and Distress Inks.  I just realized that I used the same saying as the first DT's project!  Now that is some real inspiration!  :)

Moxie Fab:  Tuesday Trigger--Here is the inspirational photo...I had houses on my mind so that helped to direct this project.  Ideaology inspired which products to use!  :)

Simon Say Stamp: Anything Goes

Unique Crafters Challenge: Anything Goes.  This is a new challenge so go check it out!

So here is my project which is a wall hanging....

Here it is in better lighting.  The background paper is from Tim Holtz's Retro Grunge paper set.  This is the 2nd time I've used them.  I made a card with them for the Blog Hop and liked working with it.  Before I would just thumb through the paper stack.

I started off with a flap to an empty box of diapers.

I got out some of my Ideaology stuff...

I think the letters looked so pretty together after I ran them through the Xron machine.  I will be doing this again!

So here is the wall hanging.  Scroll on down and I will show close ups.

I used a few Tim Holtz stamps on the paper.  The key, crown, and star are from the grungeboard letter set.
I put Stickles on top of them after I distressed them.

The bird is from the birdcage die cut from Sizzix/Hotlz.  I used a pop dot for the wing.

This heart is grungeboard that I used an embossing folder on then used the Cuttlebug Heart die to cut out.  I distressed it with worn lipstick and then vintage photo....but it still wasn't right.  I sprayed some red Smooch on it and that was the ticket!  I outlined it with my gold leaf pen.  Then once I got the letters on, I used Glossy Accents to make it shiny.

The house is from Prima and I used a little distress ink on it so it wouldn't be this bright white thing.  Now it's less bright ;)  And there is a little Jenni Bowlin rub-on in the bottom corner.

The key says heart.  I used butcher's twine and rubbed it in some distress ink to change the color of it.

Here it is hanging on the wall.  Thanks for checking it out.  Until next time my friends...have a good night!
