Technique Time Tuesday Time!

Hello Everybody!

So many exciting things happening at Technique Time Tuesday!  First we have a new technique!  It's called Brick Wall.  All of the instructions are here so go check it out and join us!

Here is my card:

I realized that I used the same Eiffel Tower from Hero Arts as I did last month.  But of course I didn't realize it until after the picture was taken.  So I promise I will use different stamps next month-LOL!  I used Distress Inks for the background of the tower.

And you know that Technique Time Tuesday has a Facebook page?  Yes!  And when you enter our challenge, we will ask if you would like us to put your entry on our Facebook page.  What better way to show off your work with your friends?  (Other than posting it yourself) ;)

Pretty Shells

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I finished a card for the challenge at Sparkle N Sprinkle Challenge SNSSC16-a color challenge using blues.

Normally, I get nervous with color challenges.  I don't know why but I do and I tend to avoid them.  You know how you figure out what you like to do.  For instance I am more a sketch and supply gal.  But today I conquered this color fear.  The last color on the palette was white (or that's how I interpreted it).  The blues I used Sparkle N Sprinkle embossing powders along with their stamps.

Here is a close up.  I chose to add this second picture because you can see the glittery goodness on the shell on the right hand side.  For the shells I used stamp set 158 Tropical.  For the shell and sand dollar I used SNS Mediterranean Star embossing powder.  For the star fish I used SNS embossing powder Ocean Spark (so pretty in person!).  I don't know what stamp set the sentiment is from (although I am pretty sure it is an SNS stamp).  I used Mediterranean embossing powder for the sentiment.  It doesn't have sparkle.  I embossed white cardstock to make those cool dots.  Lastly, I used pop dots for the star fish.

There is still time to play this challenge and you don't have to use SNS stamps but if you do they are giving folks a digi stamp-just for playing and using SNS stamp.  So exciting!

Cirque Italia

Hello Everybody!

Happy Friday!  We have some friends coming to visit us for the week or so, so I may not be online as much.  But know that we are going to make memories that I can scrap for later! :)

Speaking of memories, I wanted to share with you a layout I finished last night.  It's for a challenge at Let's Scrap that ended last night, but don't worry.  They always have challenges so I am sure there will be a new one very soon (if not already)!

The challenge was to use feathers and bling in honor of Mardi Gras.  Also, the DT posts tutorials and you needed to include one of those as well.  Which by the way isn't a problem because they teach all sorts of different techniques-lots of fun!

 I had purple on my mind.  I guess because of Mardi Gras but I used a shimmery purple cardstock from Wassau.  The pattern paper might be Pink Paislee.  I really don't know.  I but a stack of it at the Scrapbook Expo and threw away the name of it.  So if you recognize it-let me know :)

My husband's brother was in town and we saw the show Cirque Italia.  It was so much fun.  Our 3 year just watched.  I was worried that he might be restless but he watched it and was very good.

I included a ticket from the show on the right and put journaling pieces over some parts of it.

Here is the title.  It was a photo frame from Colorbok and was clear acetate.  I used alcohol inks (one of the DT tutorials) and I love how it turned out.  The shimmery letters are from Making Memories.

At the show they tell you that you can take pictures just no flash.  At first I thought I had misunderstood the announcer.  But then he says to tell your friends and share you pics on facebook.  Yippee!  So the pictures are a little dark but at least I was able to take pictures! It's an awesome show and great for a Saturday afternoon! :)

Tim Holtz Feb Tag 2013

Hello Everybody!

I feel like it has been forever since I have posted.  My need for sleep caught up with me a couple of nights so   I didn't craft enough to have any finished projects.  But I am here now with a finished tag-Yay!

This is inspired by Tim Holtz's February 2013 tag which can be seen here.  I didn't have everything so I improvised.

He uses Distress Stain for the base of the tag which I have-but not colors close together.  So I had worn lipstick but nothing darker in the red family so I used a silver instead.  I didn't have the cool Queen of Hearts stamp so I used this one from Great Impressions.  I did try to do the same thing like Tim did.  I stamped on the tag, then I restamped the kids.  The boy is glued down and the girl is pop dotted.  I used the distress markers on them too (I only have 5, the basic set).  I love to color on the mat and pick it up with the water pen-so cool!

The hearts and Live Laugh Love Together is a Cuttlebug Embossing folder that came in a set.  I used Tim Holtz Coredinations paper and it sands nicely to show the color underneath.  I had Maya Arts twine that I put walnut distress ink on and tied it around the tag.  The charm is from Epiphany Crafts, and I have the punch, charms and epoxy square.  

The inside are Chit Chat words from the regular set.  I didn't know they had a Seasonal one so I will keep my eyes out for it.  I am totally addicted to typed words.  LOL :)

The tissue ribbon is Tim Holtz-and what a fantastic idea that is!  I will be using that idea again.

Embroider

Hello Everybody!

I hope everybody had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  I did-it was nice and low key.

Time is ticking for the challenge at The Craft Barn but I finally have made my ATC for their Alphabet Challenge.  The letter now is E.  I chose the word embroider.  And that is what I did on this ATC.  I used a little walnut distress ink to better highlight my word plus I used a straight stitch to section off my word from the rest of the page.

Here's a close up.  The flowers and basket are from a design in the book Creative Embroidery on Paper by Erica Fortgens.  I had originally heard about sewing on paper from Ecstasy Crafts many moons ago.

A Valentine For Ewe

Hello Everybody!

Valentine's is almost here!  I have a couple of more Valentine's in the works so for now here is this one.  I used the digi's from Bugaboo Stamps.  (I got it for free a few Friday's ago!)  You can find this stamp here and the sentiment is included too.

The heart paper is from Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby and the red paper is from Bazzill.

I made 2 copies of the ewe so I could make his head and wings 3-D.  I added a little glitter to his wings too. I used Copics to color the hearts, wings and his face.

Valentine Card

Hello Everybody,

Today I bring you a card I made using my Cricut cartridge Celebrate with a Flourish.  The background paper is from Echo Park.  And I used Red Stickles on the arrow.

This week at For Fun Challenges-the challenge is to use arrows (1 or more).  This is going to be our last challenge.  So I hope you play along!
