July 4th Wall Hanging

Hello Everybody,

I couldn't wait to get this posted and share with you!  I am submitting my wall hanging into 4 challenges:

1. Studio L3-A Compendium of Curiosities Volume II-Page 37 Tissue Wrap Flower Challenge 10.  The sponsor this week is The Funkie Junkie Boutique with a gift card for $25 to their shop.  So there is still a little time to play-so c'mon!

2. Simon Says Stamp and Show-A Bit of Brown!  There is a little spot on the right hand bottom corner that the cardboard is exposed and the burlap is a light brown and peaks out through some of the distress ink.  They are giving a $50 gift card to their store.

3. Our Creative Corner-Buttons and Burlap or Bow or Both-I used burlap to hang my art piece, and I put 3 buttons on the right side.

4. Just Us Girls-Red White and Blue

Here it is:

Here it is hanging on the wall.  Scroll on down, and I'll show you a few highlights!

My husband received this seed circular in the mail (it's an advertisement like a catalog).  I had flipped through it and made sure that when he was done that it didn't get thrown away.

It has some colored pages but the best are these black and white ones.  I know that I have paper that looks like this but I should save that ;)

The circular is the same size as my piece of cardboard.  So I took a piece out of the book and used Hodge Podge to glue it onto my cardboard.

Back in May I went to the Scrapbook Expo and bought this cool "paper" at Tall Mouse.

They also had these glitter sheets and bling sheets.  It was an awesome booth!

So I painted a place on my paper with white paint to help make the red pop.

I used my tiny attacher (Tim Holtz) to put the "paper" on my project.  I think I just used 2 little staples and knew I was going to cover them up.

Then I put glittery blue and silver behind my picture.  I used craft glue dots to adhere my picture.  Craft dots are big and thick sort of like a 3-D dot.  I added brad stars and buttons.  The July is made from Making Memories stickers.  The year is from Kaiser rub-ons.

Here's the burlap that I used to hang the wall hanging.

I used faded jeans and red brick to color the burlap.

Here are the tissue flowers.  They are so much fun to make!

I used red and blue distress ink on the background paper and the sealed it with Modge Podge.  I don't know if the paper will turn (it probably will unless it was sealed).

Here a close up of the buttons and the bit of brown down by the grapes in the right hand corner.

Here my project again.  Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...time to get out the  red, white, and blue!

So much going on in this wall hanging! Very cool (although it doesn't hurt when you have a cutie in the picture)!

Wow, wow, and wow again! You have included such an amazing amount of texture. Love the way you used the seed catalog for the backing and created such an amazing patriotic piece! Sensational take on the Buttons n' burlap or bows theme this week at Our Creative Corner. So happy that you shared your beautiful work with us!
