Graduation Card-You Did It!

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I made a graduation card for my niece.  She graduated 2 weeks ago but we couldn't come because there are only so many tickets to watch the graduation.  Sort of a bummer-but it's ok!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show: Textures

Frilly and Funkie: Kraft paper and Twine

Here's my card.  I used the Tim Holtz fade Damask on the Kraft paper and put it as my background.  I used brick red Distress Ink and Gold Paint Dabber.  That is my new favorite combination!

There are 2 pieces of twine-one from Martha Stewart and the other from Queen and Company.

Here's my piece of kraft paper before I did anything to it.

I changed the color of the star because I wanted to brighten up my tag.  Gold was my first choice though.  I used several Distress Inks on my tag.  The star stamps and sentiment are from Stampin' Up.

Here's a close up of the tag.  I really like the versatility of these stamps.  And there are two more pictures and matching sentiments in the stamp set.  I won these stamps at Maggie Made Cards.  Woo Hoo!  And this is the first chance I have had to play with them.  I used white embossing powder for the star and black ink for the sentiment.  Pop Dots are on the back of the tag to give it some depth.

This is a close up of the ribbon.  It was a beige lace and then I added a few drops of Distress Stain to them.  Love it!

And here's my card again.  Until next time my friends...have a great weekend!
