Hello Everybody!

It's time for a new challenge at Clearly iStamp!  This time the challenge is to make Thank You Cards!

I used the Tulip Wreath Digi set.  I used Photoshop Elements to measure out the digi paper that comes with this set.  I actually made it a little bit bigger than my card measurements so that when I trimmed it I wouldn't lose the correct size.  I adhered the background to my card base.

So then I made a bouquet with the tulips (2 are together so I copied the layers).  Then I positioned the Thank You (same set) on the card also.  I printed extra tulips.  I cut out 2 full tulips with stems and pop dotted them.  Then I cut just the flowers out and filled in the bouquet.  I added a tiny bow with a glue dot.

Here is a side view so that you can see the popped tulips.

Here are the details for the Thank You Challenge #6 at Clearly iStamp:

Dates: Aug 30 to Sept 12 (11PM Central Time)

Fun: If you use a CDS Stamp you will be entered into the drawing twice.

Prize: The lucky random drawn person gets a $10 gift certificate!
There will also be a Top 3 Award!

Until next time my friends...Thank you for stopping by!  Can't wait to see what you create! :)

Gelato Balloons

Hello Everybody!

I've been a little busy!  There is a challenge going on right now at All Beautiful Cards (ABC Challenges.  The challenge ABC42 is not to use flowers on your cards.

So for this card I used my gelatos.  These colors are all from the 50's diner set. I love the colors in this set, don't you?

I used a Happy Birthday background stamp from Hero Arts and white embossed the background.  Then using the different colors in the set, I colored (with a little water) parts of the background to make the embossing show through.  I die cut the balloons from the Cricut machine (Celebrations cartridge) and colored each balloon with the gelatos.

I used Maya Road twine and pop dotted the balloons.  And no flowers! ;)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a great day! :)

Tim's August Tag

Hello Everybody!

Well it must almost be the end of the month because my tag is now done! :)  LOL!  This month's tag at Tim Holtz's blog is awesome.  He did 4 different travel themes using the masking technique.  I am so glad he used these sets.  I have seen them at my LSS and I wanted them (plus a bagillion other things) and thought I haven't seen him use these.  Which by the way doesn't mean anything-I am sure he has I just hadn't seen them yet.  And then here comes the August tag and he uses all four sets!  Too cool!

Here is my tag.  I used Tim Holtz's Eiffel Tower and Enjoy the journey but the postmark is from a Recollections set my hubby got me at Christmas.  And the map stamp is from Stampabilities.

For the background I used bundled sage, tea dye, and a little walnut stain (all distress stains).

Thank you for stopping by!  I appreciate your taking time to see my tag!  Until next time my friends...enjoy your journey! :)

A Little Halloween Card

Hello Everybody!

I made this card tonight for the challenge going on at Inkspirational.  This week the challenge is to case this card:

Here is my card:

I used the doily as the center like in the original card.  I had a white one that I covered with black soot distress ink.  I love black soot distress ink-what ever did I do before? ;)

I embossed an orange jack o'lantern on the doily.  I popped dotted a glittery foam ghost.  The CASED card had a bird so I felt I needed something flying also.  ;)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-Boo! :)

First Day of School

Hello Everybody!

My little boy started school today.  So when I got home I printed some of the pictures I took this morning.  I am loving 3X3s right now.

Also, there is a picture inspiration challenge going on at Inkspirational right now.  So let me show you my scrapbook page and how I was inspired :)

Here's the journaling.  I left my little handwriting mistake.  It would've happened again-LOL.  This is an apple die cut left over from my 3-D apple.  Yay! Using up leftovers.

So here is the photo for Challenge #33 at Inkspirational.

I knew I had this one kind of pattern paper.  I reorganized my entire loose paper stash to find it.  (That means I have too much!)  LOL  So that paper is in the background for my page.

I used a sticker from Reminisce for the title.  American Arts Thickers letters spell out the title.  Echo Park is the red paper outlining the ABC paper which is from Karen Foster (I think).  I used a felt arrow that I had in my stash.   The squares with sayings on them came from a piece of DCWV paper.  And for the date I used these little Tim Holtz letters.  Oddly enough I keep using up all of the U's.  Isn't that weird?  Oh well.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...time to get those study caps on! :)

An Apple

Hello Everybody!

It's time for a new challenge at Clearly iStamp!  The challenge this time is to do a school related project.

I made a 3-D apple.  I used the digi papers and sentiment from the Candy Apple set and the worm from the Time for School set.

I loved the papers from the Candy Apple set.  They felt very fallish to me and gave some depth to one side of the apple.  I used the My World Cricut cartridge to cut out about 24 red apples.  Then I cut out 2 of each of the 3 patterns from the digi set.  I inked the edges.  Then I folded them in half and glued on half to the other.  Now this technique works perfect when both sides of the die are symmetrical.  My apples were a little off, but I tried to match like with like sides.  I had to trim a little in a few places.  The leaf is also from that cartridge and I used a Cricut marker to outline the leaf on both side.  I used barn door distress ink to ink up the sentiment.

I made the worm twice-but flipped the second one.  I added googly eyes on each side and colored it with Copic markers.

Here is the back side.  I am excited for my son to give it to his teacher! :)

Here are the details for this time's challenge:

Dates: Aug 16th - Aug 29th (11pm Central Time)
Prized $10 gift code to Clearly Digi Stamps for digital stamps.  If you use a CDS stamp, you will be entered twice into the drawing!
There will also be a Top 3 Award!

I'm so excited to see your school projects!  Until next time my friends...How you like them apples? ;)

Sparkly Butterflies

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I made a card for the challenge going on at Inkspirational: Challenge #32 Colors:

I love these colors together.  So here's my card:

I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  I made a little green envelope from the New Arrival Cricut Cartridge.  I embossed the sentiment in with white embossing powder.  Then the butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch.  I painted them with Brushable Glue from Sparkle N Sprinkle and used Cloud Nine Semi Translucent on the butterflies.  The glitter is also from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Here's a close-up:

On one of the butterflies I just glittered the outside of it.  I thought I would change one of them up.  :)

Thanks for stopping by again!  Until next time my friends...have a good night! :)

Birthday Pirate

Hello Everybody!

I made a card this morning for a little guy's birthday today.

I used the sketch and theme at House of Cards for the inspiration of this card.  I used the Boys will be Boys cartridge on my Cricut for this little pirate.  The background is a Hero Arts stamp.  I had to ink the edges too.  I had too! :)

Here is a close up of the lil' pirate.  I pop dotted the spellbinders circle so the ribbon could go under it.  I actually cut his body out of white cardstock and colored it with a Spectrum Noir marker TN2.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Wedding Photo

Hello Everybody!

I made this page for the weekly challenge at Let's Scrap-sketch 7-31-13.  I love how it turned out.

I used Echo Park paper, stickers, and the title.  I used documented as the title because how many times can you say "bride and groom," "wedding day," etc.  Right?  The cluster on the right contain a K&C Company Dimension sticker, Tim Holtz ticket and chit chat sticker, 2 Jolee's "flowers," a hat pin with ribbon tied on it and 2 metal stickers from Momenta.  I put a little paint on the metal stickers so the engraving would stand out a little more.  I used Tim's picket fence distress paint because it was handy. :)

Thanks for stopping by!  If you have some clever wedding page titles-please share!  :)

Until next time my friends...have a fantastic evening! :)

Acetate Smack!

Hello Everybody and Happy Tuesday!

It's time for a new challenge at Technique Time Tuesday-are you ready?  It's called Smackin' Acetate.  It's super easy and fun!  Mynnette has made a wonderful video.  In a nutshell you swipe your markers over a piece of acetate and spritz some water and then put your cardstock on top of it (hence the smash).

So here is what I made:

I used a dictionary page as the background and then used some Tim Holtz stamps and gear stamps for Graphic 45.  The hand is a movers and shaker from Tim.  I used one of the simple sayings from Tim's stampers anonymous collection for the sentiment.

I used Distress markers black soot and faded jeans for that middle background where I used the acetate smash technique.  I then was able to continue using those colors for the rest of the card with the Distress Ink.  Right now I love some black soot.  I have inked before with black so it shouldn't be that big a deal-but if I can put black soot on something-I will!

Oh I did change up the technique a little bit-I used Perfect Pearls Mist-gold to react with the distress markers while the ink was still on the acetate.  This added a little shimmer to the marker color.

Here's a picture where you can see a few bits of gold.

I would like to enter this into the following challenge:

This is going to a friend of ours that is on bed rest-doctor's orders.  Hopefully, this will brighten his day a little!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-Just Smack it! :)  (don't go crazy though!)

So Lovely

Hello Everybody!

Yesterday was a treat for me.  I got to scrapbook with my mom-in-law while my son played with his Grandy.  Yay!  And I got a few pages done.  Here' is one I am sharing today.  This is me in the Bahamas last year.  A friend and I took a kayak tour and this was our mid-way stop.

Crate paper has these photo overlays so it looks like I printed it that way-but I didn't.  And then most paper is Hope Chest by Pink Paisley with a piece from 7 Gypsies and a few bits from Tim Holtz.  The bow is Jolee's and the title letters are Dear Lizzy.  They were sorta bright so I toned the letters down with some black soot distress ink.  And if you look to the right of the picture there are some gears in between the paper layers.  Those are stamps from Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Inkspirational Challenge #31:  Anything Goes!

Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes!

Thank you for stopping by!

Until next time my friends...Let's go on another cruise! :)

Fun Movies Birthday Card

Hello Everybody!

It's time for a new fun challenge at Clearly iStamp.  The challenge this time is to CASE the person in front of you.

Now let me tell you a little story-Kathy sent out a list so we would know who's blog to check out and find the project we wanted to CASE.  But guess who didn't pay close attention to the list-if you said me you win!  LOL  I read the email and then when on my merry way.  Then when I came back to the computer-I thought we were Casing the person in front of us on the Christmas challenge.  DOH!

So I CASED Jamie's card that you can find here.  I really like the tags along the side of her card.  I also like the overall sketch.  Here is Jamie's card:

Here is my card.  The reel circle is popped dotted.  The sentiment is a rub-on that I bought a looong time ago.  And then I printed out the movie tickets and used a charcoal cat's eye around the edges.  I added the rhinestones like Jamie has on her card.  It's such a great sketch!

Here's a side shot of the card and you can see there's a little depth on the reel.  I love this Movies digi stamp set.  I think if you have a movie lover and wanted to give them a movie gift card-this would be the perfect card for that!

On the inside I printed and adhered a popcorn and soda from the movies set.

This challenge runs until August 15th at 11PM Central Time.  The winner will get a $10 gift code to Clearly Digital Stamps for digital stamps.  Since this is a drawing if you use a CDS stamp your name goes into the draw twice!  And there will be an award for the Top 3.  I can't wait to see what
you create!

**I am also submitting this to the Anything Goes! at Simon Says Stamp.

Until next time my friends...I'll have a popcorn with butter and a box of snow caps! :)

Tim Holtz July Tag 2013

Hello Everybody!

Whew-is this last minute or what?  Well I have finally finished my tag for Tim Holtz's 12 tags of 2013.

A few differences is that I didn't have that cool number 4 and I couldn't find the box stamp for the thank you.  My scrap area is a mess (I'm sure my husband would say that that's quite an understatement).  I have made projects and gotten all sorts of things out and then I don't put them back.  So my desk is like a huge mountain of various things.  When something falls, I'm just happy it doesn't hit a cat.  LOL.

My background stamps are different and my ribbon didn't turn out like Tim's.  I think I added too much water.  But it did lighten up which is cool.  I used musical notes (stamp) from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...can't wait for the August tag! :)
