The Journey Card

Hello Everybody!

I have finished all of my Let's Scrap Blog stuff and you would think that I would be in bed by now.  At least I thought that...but I could not resist the challenge at For Fun Challenges.  It's getting close to the end of this challenge, but visit because there will be a new challenge tomorrow!

The Challenge is to use the sentiment as the main image, 3 brads or buttons, and 2 different ribbons.  I can't resist a recipe for fun!

So here's my card...The Journey Awakens the Soul stamp is from Tim Holtz.  On the left are my 3 buttons and the bow is out of lace and there is a ribbon on the bottom.

Here is a close up of the lace bow.  I distressed the sentiment with Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks.

Until next time my friends...enjoy the journey and send a post card! ;)

Tidbit Tuesday

Hey Everybody,

It's Tuesday and it's late.  :)  I have been working all weekend on my cards for the Blog Hop.  I'm done!  Yay!!  50 cards.  But here's the thing.  I am taking pictures and getting them uploaded to Let's Scrap--and that I am not done with yet.  So I will share my cards through out the week.  I'm sorry I don't have anything fun and exciting for today but just know that cool cards are on the way!

Until next time my friends...have a good night! :)

At Mamere's Scrapbook Page

Hello Everybody!

I am still working on my cards for the Blog Hop.  I think I have 12 more left.  Here's my plan: finish my cards, take photos of them, put them on the computer, upload to Let's Scrap, then revisit the respective blogs and post the cards' URLS.  No pressure!  ;)  Then I will blog them (and there's a bunch of them) here as time is quickly running out on me!

However, in the meantime I have made a 2 page layout with this week's Let's Scrap sketch by Cheri O'Neil:

Here's my 2 page layout.  Instead of hearts, I used snowflakes.  All of the paper I used came from DCWV The Winter Magic Stack.  Beautiful papers...and when I saw Mamere's Christmas tree, I knew I needed this paper stack!

Here is a close up of the first page.

Here is the journaling.  This is written on white cardstock from Recollections, and I forgot the title is DCWV stickers on a piece of Bazzill cardstock.

Here's a close up of the snowflakes.  They are plastic pieces, and so cool.

Here's the bag.  I bought them at the Scrapbook Expo last year for $1--no lie.  I bought 2 packs!

Here's the 2nd page.

Here's the journaling.  I also used a silver ink to highlight the journaling boxes.  Until next time my friends...keep on scrappin! :)

On a Journey

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share this project for you.  I had to take a break from making cards. :)

I am submitting this project to the following challenges:

Lessology #11 Flight of Fantasy: Projects that incorporate flights in a creative way: my butterflies

Simon Says Stamp and Show: London, Paris or New York-Take your Pick! I couldn't choose just one city-so I did all 3! :)

Scrapbookers Anonymous: A-Z Challenge the Letter G  I used Glitz Paper Layers and a gold heart near the top, and gold ribbon.

Here's my project...Scroll down and I'll show you some close ups and some highlights!

Here is New York and Paris.  There's me in the key hole (Tim Holtz).

We leave Paris and go to London--the London Bridge.  The Journey awakens the Soul is a Tim Holtz stamp-one of my faves!

Here's my main butterfly-flying :)  The butterfly is attached to a wire that is connected through the cardboard.

There's my little butterfly again!

Here is my creation hanging on the wall.

Alright here's what I did.  That white cardboard piece is a flap from a diaper box.  (I cut off the other 3 flaps for future projects).  Then I wrapped it in this wrapping paper from one of my Valentine's day gifts.  However, I flipped it over to use just the plain brown kraft side.  I tried stapling it, but the staples came through to the front of the cardboard, so I took them out and got out the tape.  It was like wrapping a very thing present, but hey-it worked!

Using my crop-o-dile I made a hole.

Then another.  I used an embossing stylus, like the handle part, to make the holes a little bigger.  I wasn't sure how many ribbons I was going to use.

Then I dry painted it with white acrylic paint.

Here's me planning out what I wanted to use.  The Statue of Liberty is from Paper Studios, Paris is from Hero Arts, and somewhere is the London Bridge from Fiskars.  Journey stamp is from Tim Holtz.

Anytime I have to get out the Big Bite---it's gonna be a good day!

Here is a scrap that I thought would look good with the bridge.  It gives it a post card feel.

Here's the close up.  You can also see the papers I used.  I used butterflies because of the fantasies of flight them and the other paper has French writing on it.

The papers are from Glitz and they are thinner papers like decoupage.  I really like them because they were perfect for this project!

Here is my project again...  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...book that flight!  All who wander are not lost....  ;)  I just really wanted to say that :)

Ash Wednesday

Hello Everybody!

I want to say Hello! and Thank you for all of my new Cut and Paste Pals in the last few weeks. :)  I am so glad to have you here!

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.  I wanted to share with you what I am giving up for 40  days (not counting the 6 Sundays).  I am not going to buy anything for scrapbooking.  Now please know that I have a lot of stuff--a lot.  Besides paper and embellishments, I am not going to buy adhesive (I did stock up a little on Monday), buy prints, or anything else that I think I must have.

Generally, I don't like to tell myself no.  :) Here lately though my shopping addiction has gotten a little out of hand.  So I feel this is the perfect time not buy anything, use what I have, and see how well I fair.

So if you participate in Lent, let me know what you are giving up.  Until next time my friends...see you soon!

Doodles, doodles-Everywhere!

Hello Everybody,

I am posting another card right now (2 in a row=fun!) for not only the Let's Scrap Blog Hop but also for the challenge at Inspired By... Laurel picks out great photos for inspiration and you can play along too!

So this week's picture is...

This is a great picture, don't you think?  I love all of those frames on the wall!  The sketch I used was created by Debby de Wilde and is stop #48 on the Let's Scrap Blog Hop.

Here's my card... I used the colors from the picture and the girliness of it.  The strip is from a roll of Tim Holtz tape, and the stickers are from Me and My Big Ideas.  The stickers are what inspired the rest of the doodling.  I saw the crown in the picture and had to draw one.  Without the doodling the card just seemed kind of unfinished.  Then once the pink was finished, the blue looked naked so I hand drew stitching.

Here is a close up.  Doodling is fun.  :)  Until next time my friends....what will you doodle?

I Love You Snow Much! Leap 26

Hello Everybody!

I have been busy making cards!!  And it's so fun.  I printed out the sketches on the Let's Scrap Blog Hop and I feel like I am cramming for a test.  I go back and forth and if my original plan doesn't work out, I find a different sketch to make it work.

But I also like visiting other challenge sites to give me a an idea for a card.  I recently joined For Fun Challenges and realized I could participate in the current challenge...Snow! And snowmen too!

So here is my card.  Scroll down, and I will show you the sketch I used by a very talented lady named Debby de Wilde.  This is also for Leap 26 in the Blog Hop.

There wasn't a lot of space on the front of the card, so I put the sentiment inside...

I used a Fiskars embossing plate to make the embossed snowflakes on the white cardstock.  The printed paper is Paper Pizzazz and the snowman and stickers are from Me and My Big Ideas.  The ribbon is just some that I have.

Here's a close up of the embossed snow flakes.

Here is the sketch I used for this card.  It is stop number 26 on the Blog Hop.

Here's my card again.  Until next time my friends...stay warm!

Tidbit Tuesday-Tags!

Hello Everybody!

Hope you are doing well on this Tuesday!  I am combining my Tidbit with the Blog Hop-Leap Around the World!

First here is the sketch by Debby de Wilde...
Here is the paper I am using for the outside of my pocket.  I am going to make the pocket the design element for this card.  This paper is from 7 Gypsies.

The red paper is from Making Memories.  I measure the 7 Gypsies paper smaller than the red which is the size of the card.  If you had enough red to cover the exposed part of the pocket-that would be ok too, and no one would be the wiser!

I like my pockets to be as closed off as much as possible.  If you put a few photos, or tags, etc. you don't want them poking out.  So I used red line tape to show that I am going to adhere 3 sides to the red on the base of the card.  And with red line tape the pocket isn't going anywhere so I have to be sure I have it lined up just right the first time.

I realized that I had a little extra space to play with on the front of my card so this is a silk flower I bought from Michaels around Thanksgiving.  Now part of it is going to be my flower on the card.  Don't worry, we aren't using Versamark for this project, I just haven't put it away yet! ;)

So I have this tag in my tag collection and it matches great with the print on the pocket paper.  One of the fiber colors I pull out also matches perfectly.  Coincidence?  Or just lucky!

So here is the assembly of my card.  The center of the flower is a rhinestone brad from Recollections.  I used Zots (glue dots) to glue the flower to the pocket.

Here is my finished card...

And here it is with the tag out and the sentiment.  Tags are so versatile.  Scrapbook pages, chipboard books, and cards and where ever else your creative heart leads you!  :)  Until next time my friends...send someone a pocket full of love :)

Here Comes the Bride-Congrats Card

Hello Everybody,

I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #22.  Here's the sketch...

Here's my card...A friend of mine just got engaged.  So I have had wedding on my mind.

Here's the close up of the bride.  The stamp is from G Studio and she's embossed with Stampendous silver embossing powder.  I was quite happy when I found that in my stash.  I was looking for pink--and then saw this color.  Yay! :)

Here's a close up of the center.  The stripes and flowers are from the same sheet of scrapbook paper by American Crafts.  Then the grey and white are from Recollections cardstock paper.  The sentiment is from Creating Keepsakes (a freebie they sent a little while back).

Here's my card again.  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a good night! :)
