Fabulous Little Canvas

Hello Friends!

I made this cool little canvas. 

It's a 3 X 3 canvas.  I love these small little canvases.  Less pressure LOL  

Here's a list of what I used:

Metallic grape and light purple gelatos.  Then I used a paintbrush and water to even them out.

Simon Says Stencil-Hey Love with a baby wipe over the canvas and removed the gelato.

Finnabair mold with paper clay.  Painted her with sparks Iris Potion. But she was too bright-so I toned her down with Finnabair old white matte wax. 

Tim Holtz-snarky small talk.

Here's the before on the face.  I love iris potion.  It's so shiny LOL.  But too shiny.  The wax really helped to tone it down for this project.

Wild Winston

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share my latest project with ya'll!  It was totally inspired by the Creative Carte Blanche challenge.  The challenge is to use the 3 W's: Wood, Word, and Wild (an interpretive element).

I have wood panels that you can craft it.  That's what I used for the base of this project.  The wooden oval is about 7 inches tall and 5 inches across.  I put gesso on it to prime it.

I used Wendy Vecchi's crackle texture paste and Tim Holtz's stripes stencil for the middle texture.  The I used a mixture of Golden paints to create the background.

In this picture you can see that crackle and the gold paint.  I started with the brown color and mixed red and brown and added that on top.  Then I used the two different golds.  I love the shimmer!

Here is the finished project:  Wild Winston.  This fella was the Law back in the day.  They named him Wild Winston-but it was an ironic name.  He wasn't very wild.  He broke up gambling rings, sent trouble makers a packin' and recovered many a stolen horses and cows.  He was mild mannered.  And he was a man of God.  Good ol' Wintson was a brave soul--his job was to keep the town safe.  And that's just what he did.  :)

Here is Wild Winston-the bravest in all of that part of the West.  The picture, metal oval circle (sticker), and the frame and Brave are all from Tim Holtz.  The handcuff, cross, and key charms are from Pepperlonely LLC.  The frame is a small cabinet frame from TH.  It's my first time using it with a found relative photo.  The oval sticker fit perfectly.  I used an embossing pen to make the gold embossing around the frame.  That was my first time using the pen-it's awesome.  :)

Happy Birthday Card

Today I have finished a card-a CAS card!

At Stamplorations they are having a CAS challenge using green if you want.  I have some Stamplorations stamps-so I thought this would be perfect.  The feathers are from their Trendy Feathers Vignette set.

What if I Fail?

Oh, But My Darling, What if you fly?--Erin Hanson

Hello Everybody!

Isn't that an awesome quote?  Wouldn't it be great if you could relax in knowing that you could fly?  But alas...it's not that easy.

So tonight's tag has part of this quote on it.  I was going to use a Dylusion quote-but somehow this came to mind.

For this tag I started off gluing a piece of book page to the tag and trimming the extra.  Then I sponged on mustard seed distress ink.  Using a Dylusions stencil, I added crackle texture paste that dries white by Wendi Vecchi.

And wait--haha for the paste to dry. Then...

I add distress paint- walnut stain- with my finger to the tag.  I like the way the yellow peaks out.  You can see the crackle.  Woo Hoo!

Then I made the dress form from a Tim Holtz die.  I used a dot embossing folder and then used D.I. wild honey.  I stapled the tulle skirt on and tied a cord around the waist to hide the staples.  Then I found this gold heart and knew it would be perfect.  This picture also shows the crackle very well.  I added white stain in the background to make the wings and dress form pop.

The wings are Fun Stampers Journey stamped on pattern tissue paper.
