I was cruising through the Internet and found Frilly and Funkie have a very cool challenge. It's called "Oh The Places You Will Go." Now I love Dr. Seuss and this totally grabbed my attention. For the challenge you can use airplanes or boats and have travel as the theme.
So I had this idea that popped in my head. I always like to go to the city. For me there is something very exciting about the hustle and bustle of what's going on. There always seems to be statues and cool architecture. So for my my project I created a sunset on the City.
I used Tim Holtz's Distress Paints to create the sky background-chipped sapphire, salty ocean, spun sugar, picked raspberry, ripe persimmon, and mustard seed. I also used mustard seed to color the light modeling paste (Liquitex). I used a TH stencil for the sun rays. I flicked picket fence on the darker sky.
The city landscape was cut using my silhouette and black cardstock. Then I painted Perfect Pearls Forever Violet and water on die cut. This is done on a wooden plaque-5.1 x 7.25 inches (like the $1 or so kind) :)
I pop dotted the city to give the city a little extra oomph.
This was a super fun challenge. And there's still a little (and I mean little) time to join.
I would like to submit this to:
Thank you for stopping by! Until next time my friends...where will you go?
