Christmas Layout

Hello Everybody!

I am so happy about this layout!  I have been wanting to scrap this photo-but I couldn't find the right sketch until yesterday! The sketch at Sketches in Thyme was perfect.

My friend and I went to Disney Springs and had the best time.  We ate, shopped, saw decorated Christmas tress--and then we got to see Santa Claus!

I used a lot of Doodlebug Home for the Holidays for this layout.  I sprinkled red smooch spritz (yeah that's old!) on the white card stock background.  Most of the stickers are from Doodlebug too.  There are a few rub ons and letters from Making Memories.  At the top I used twine and jute for the tags.

I would like to submit this to the following challenges:

Challenge YOUself: #64 Favorite Holiday--Christmas is definitely one of my favorite holidays!  I'm on the right :)

Use Your Stuff:  #356 Use String, Yarn, or Twine --The 3 tags at the top left have twine or jute.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...It's starting to look a lot like Christmas...(ok it's not but I do love Christmas!) :)

Mixed Media Thank You Card

Hello Friends!

It feels like years since I have made a card.  It hasn't been lol but it feels that way.  I refocused on scrapbooking-trying to do some memory keeping.  And I have (my next post is proof!).

So I was looking through Pinterest and many things always catch my eye.  So between something there and some cheesecloth-I created this...

I cut some watercolor paper to card size.  I used mod podge fabric glue to adhere the cheese cloth.  Once dry I used some spun sugar distress paint and watered it down and painted it.  I mixed a little spun sugar paint with modeling paste and used a tim holtz stencil.

I added buttons, a wood clock, a clay butterfly, a wooden lady silhouette-and I painted all of them with the spun sugar.  The thanks sentiment is a flash card from Tim Holtz.  And lastly I added little silver micro beads here, there, and everywhere! :)  No all of them stuck onton the card lol.

I made this card with a certain friend in mine-so hopefully she likes :)

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Watercolor Wednesday: WWC218 Marsha's All About Occasions-When someone does something special for me-it is a wonderful occasion for me to make them a card showing appreciation. :)

Here are a couple of closeups:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...mix it up! :)

Epcot Layout

Hello Everybody!

Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Stick It Down using the single sketch challenge.  I am also submitting this layout in the Use Your Stuff Challenge for Easter or Spring.  The flowers are very springy and this happened at the end of our spring break.

This was at Epcot at the Flower and Garden Show.

The background paper and pattern papers are from an old Stampin Up kit called Just Delighful.  I also used some matching purples and pinks cardstock to make flowers.  The larger flowers are die cut files from Paige Evans on my Silhouette and the smaller flowers are from Tim Holtz Funky Foliage thinlits dies.  I used differently brads to go through the centers for the flowers.  I also used some enamel accents in white to add dots around.  The title is Thickers.

Here is the sketch from Stick It Down.  It had circles-which I had cut some but I didn't like it.  Then what I think was a brainstorm-I swapped out circles for flowers.  The banner would have been too much if I added it so I just put a little banner under the picture.

I also enlarged my middle photo.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time, enjoy the spring! :)
