One More Christmas Card

Hello Everybody!

Wow!  It is almost a New Year.  It's always exciting-like a fresh start-when the new year comes around.  New goals are set.  Last year my goal was to set more glitter.  And do you know what?  I failed.  LOL!  I think I used less glitter last year than I ever have.  And I'm talking about all glitter-glitter paper, loose glitter, and Stickles.  I realized this toward October or November.  But really too late to fix it.  Oh well.

So for now-I haven't made any real goals yet.  I just want to make more stuff. :)  And share it with you guys. :)

So I have a Christmas card to share.  The last one for the year.  And it's for someone my husband works with who likes the vintage style of cards.  So when he asks me to make her one-I happily do because I love this style too.

The pink note background paper is My Mind's Eye from their Love and Found collection (a few years old).  The mistletoe is a button.  The floss is floss.  And everything else is Tim Holtz!   Even the corrugated panel.  I did use a little gesso on the panel to brighten it up.

Here is a closeup of the charm.

I even stamped the inside! (Which I am proud of my self for doing because I usually leave it blank.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I would like to link up to the following challenges:

{Pin}spirational Challenges #181:  Photo inspiration-I love this picture.  I pulled the pink and blue from this.  I love how feminine this picture feels to me and hopefully I transferred some of that to the card.

Mid Month Reminder CWS Bus Card

Hello Everybody!

We are half way through with December.  And I don't know about you-but it went by way faster than I wanted it too!

We have some great inspiration for our challenge at Creative with Stamps.  We want to see cards using Christmas stamps.

Here is my Christmas card.  And it was inspired by a friend of mine.  She asked me if I could make a card for her kids' bus driver.  Of course I said. :)  So I went to the Silhouette store and came back with this cool school bus shaped card.  I added the 3-D Christmas lights from Jolee's and an elf sticker from Hobby Lobby.  I put the elf on white paper and cut it out so he would stand out better.

I thought this was a super cute idea for a card.  And we have a bus driver that we love so I made another one...

The elves are a little different but other than that-the same.  :)

Be sure to join our challenge!

Don't forget to include this graphic on your entry!

Thank you for stopping by!

Until next time my friends...Merry Christmas! :)

Christmas Card Time

Hello Everybody!

Are you making Christmas cards?  If you use a Christmas stamp you can link your card up to our Creative with Stamps Challenge!

For my card I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and this cool glossy paste from Recollections that I found at Micheals.  Then I stamped this cute reindeer from Hero Arts and colored him with copic markers.  I adhered him with pop dots and rounded the corners.

And I stamped the inside since I didn't have a sentiment on the outside.  This fun sentiment is from Great Impressions.

Also, stop by to see what awesome cards my teammates have created!

Be sure you join us and remember to check the rules.  You'll need our graphic for sure.  The rest of the rules are here.

I would like to link this card to the following challenges:

Until next time my friends...it's Christmas time! :)

House of Cards Holiday Blog Hop

Hello Everybody!

Get excited because it is time for the House of Cards Holiday Blog and Design Team Call!  You should have arrived here from Katarina's blog.

This is sort of a sad thing-but this will be my last post for House of Cards for the time being.  Life has gotten busy for me and I love Mynn and the ladies so much.  But I don't want to let anyone down (by being flakey lol).  I have been with House of Cards for 2 years (since July 2014).  It doesn't feel like 2 years-that's for sure.  :)

So if you are looking for a nice place to be on a Design Team where everyone is friendly and creative then you should apply here.  :)

So to participate in the blog challenge be sure to leave everyone a comment.  Also, use this inspirational photo to create a card and upload it to House of Cards.

I made 2 cards for the blog hop.  This first card is inspired by the over all theme of Christmas and I love the red in this picture.

The main image for this Christmas card is Cute as a Button.  This kitty digi is super cute and you will have to get a closeup of his list!  I colored this image with Copic markers and used Stickles to accent the snow and snowflakes.  I used a glitter ornament border and a wooden Christmas tree that I painted.  (It might be from Studio Calico.)

Here is what I used to paint the tree.  I covered it with gesso first and then painted it with this green paint.  I did put a few coats on it because this particular paint is a bit thinner.

For my second card I used a digi from MHK Designs.  I used the poinsettia and sentiment from the Perfect Poinsettia set.

I tried something new with this card.  It came to me (I don't think I saw it anywhere-I don't think-lol).

So I printed off the poinsettia.  Then I cut a piece of acetate to the size of the printed flower.  The acetate I used is from Clear Scraps so it's a bit thicker than normal acetate.  I also removed the top layer of the protective film.

Then I traced the design with Enamel Accents from Ranger.  *I wanted to use gold at first but the gold I had wasn't working too well.  The Accents came out fast and dried smooth.  I let it dry over night.

Then I added water to my red and green paints.  And used a tiny paintbrush to put the paint inside the raised edges.  It was like painting a sun catcher. :)  I used the gold in this picture for the paper on the base of the card.

Here is the back side of the flower.  I was having a hard time figuring out which side to use.

Here is the front.  You can see how the black accents is a bit more puffy than the photo above.

I added gold dots in the middle from Faber Castell.  It seems more like an ornament. ;)

Here is the finished card again.  I used scattered straw and walnut stain distress ink for the sentiment.

I am linking up my poinsettia card to the challenge at MHK Designs-if you use an MHK design anything goes.

Thank you for stopping by!  Your next stop is Leslie.
