Mario Layout

Hello Everybody!

Since it's the 5th Tuesday at Stick It Down we are choosing a layout from the collection to create from.

I chose this sketch:

And here is what I created.  I know it's weird that I chose to do a Halloween layout-but I did.  Maybe I needed a little break from red and green. ;)  Some of the papers are Heidi Grace and DCWV and the rest are scraps.  I am gonna try to get better at using up scraps--but we'll see.  ;)

I hope you come and join in on the fun!  You can do a single page, card, or 2 page layout.  The sketches are great!

Until next time my friends...the only thing really scary are my New Year's Resolutions  (LOL-and jk!)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

I hope that you had a wonderful Holiday!  It's my turn over at the Great Impressions Blog.  Since it's my last post for 2014 I thought I would share a couple of my favorite projects from this year.

My favorite project is the vintage Christmas ornament.  I love this this stamp G512 Winter Snowflake.  It works so nicely here with the gold embossing powder.  To see this post click here.

For my favorite card I chose the pop up card from Halloween.  I love Great Impressions Halloween stamps.  This was a lot of fun to make!  To see this post click here.

For this pop up card I used these Great Impressions Stamps:

Thank you for taking this walk down memory lane with me! :)  This is my last post for Great Impressions.  I have been blessed to work with this wonderful company and the wonderful ladies who make Great Impressions so special.  And thank you for stopping by!  Lots of hugs and love! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps-Side Step Card!

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn over at the Great Impressions Blog.  And I am so excited to share this side-step card.  To find out how to make one of these cards-click here.  I also wanted to see how many Great Impressions Stamps I could use!  :)

Here are the stamps that I used:

All of these cute stamps came from the Great Impressions Online Store.  Here are a couple of up close pictures:

I love these little kids from the April Showers Bring May Flowers stamp.  In the stamp they are holding flowers but when I cut them out I cut around the kids' hands and not the flowers.  I used tumbled glass for the blue on the snowflake stamp and the background sky.  I used some torn pieces of vellum to look like snow.

Thank you for stopping by today!  For more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)  And be sure to submit your projects to our current challenge here--this month's theme is to use a Great Impressions Stamp!

Have a Merry Christmas! :)

Christmas Tree Lighting Layout

Hello Everybody!

It's time again for a single page sketch at Stick It Down!  This is a fun sketch-so get those chevrons out! ;)

Here is my take on the sketch.  I used paper from Craft Smith.  I love this vintage (but not too vintage) paper pack.  I love paper packs more each time I use them.  LOL!  More poor piles of single papers are starting to gather dust.  I better do something in 2015! ;)

For the chevrons I used my Heidi Swapp stencil and inked on Stampin' Up's Garden Green ink.

Here is a closer look at the title.  These letters are from Art Warehouse.  But they come in strips so you have to cut the individual letter out.  At first I didn't want to-but it's not so bad.  :)

I have had this bling tree from Making Memories for ever!  Yay!  I used it!  (Do you ever feel that way-like scrapbooking success!)

Here is the sketch.  So dust of your piles of paper because we can't wait to see what you create! :)

Until next time my friends...have a scraptastic day! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn to share a card at the Great Impressions Blog today.  This is K100 Christmas Gracie and, she is just too cute!  The sentiment is C427 Season's Greetings.  You can buy these and other super cute stamps at the Great Impressions Online Store.

I used Bashful Blue Stampin' Up Write Markers for Gracie's dress.  I outlined her dress with the marker then used an aqua pen to pick up marker ink from my craft sheet and apply it to her dress.  The sentiment is an embossing resist and I used SU's Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue ink for the background.

The silver background is Mon Ami Gabby-I think.  And the silver circles are from a strip of bling-so they are plastic not metal or paper.

Make sure you stop by the Great Impressions Store for you holiday shopping!  Orders in the U.S. over $25 ship free!

For more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)   And check out the Great Impressions Challenge!

Until next time my friends...I'm off to get some Christmas shopping done! ;)

Sunday, December 7, 2014

Hello Everybody,

It's so weird to think that this is the last Great Impressions Challenge for 2014.  But not to worry--2015 will be full for fun challenges!

The challenge this month is Use a Great Impressions Stamp-Anything Goes.  It doesn't have to be Christmas-but we are still very much in the Christmas Spirit! :)

Here is the angel that I colored for my card.  This is stamp F461 Christmas Angel.  I used a silver photo pen for the detail work.  Then I went back over with a finer black pen.

Here is my completed card.  I added Crystal Stickles to her wings and red Stickles to the holly in her hair.  Silver outlines the oval.

For the white cardstock part I embossed the paper with a special plate that has an oval cut out.  This is from Tim Holtz.  I made sure that Christmas Angel would fit then I placed the paper in the embossing folder.  I have a Cuddlebug so I used a B plate and then this was the other plate.  It is very cool that the oval was not embossed so I could stamp and color my angel.

Usually I put the sentiment on the outside of the card and leave the inside blank.  But I thought that the angel should take front and center stay all by herself.  So I stamped this sweet sentiment on the inside: B218 Magic in the Air.

The GI Design Team and I are so excited to see what you will create with the Great Impressions Stamps!

There plenty of time to buy Great Impressions stamps for this challenge.  Just go Here!  :) For more inspiration be sure to check out our Facebook Page and Pinterest Boards.

Until next time my friends...Enjoy this magical time of year! :)

Friday Fun With Great Impressions!

Hello Everybody!

We are having a fun time at the Great Impressions Blog.  All week we have been guessing the carols from each Designers tag.  Head over there (after you see my tag of course!) to play along.  Did I mention there is a prize? ;)

So here is my tag:

I used these Great Impressions Stamps:  E774 Snow Adorable and F459 Dotted Winter Tree.

I used a Tim Holtz die cut for the tag and tumbled glass distress ink around it.  The snowman is colored with Copics and pop dotted.  I used a mask for the trees.  And the sparkly snow and outline are from Crystal Stickles.

Make sure you stop by the Great Impressions Store for you holiday shopping!  Orders in the U.S. over $25 ship free!  For more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)   And Sunday starts the new December challenge-and you don't want to miss that! :)

Until next time my friends....stay sparkly! :)

All Wrapped Up!

Hello Everybody!

There's a new challenge at Scrap It Girl!  Since it's December (already!) and there are lots of gifts to be wrapped-how fun is it to show us something that's all wrapped up!  You can show a gift wrap project, a Christmas gift on a card, and scrapbook layout with a gift, or a home made gift bag or box that you create.

I decorated a bag for this challenge.  I started with this little bag.

Then I cut a sheet of designer paper from a Craft Smith paper pad (I love these vintage Christmas papers!).  And there's a sheet of tags so I cut out the Believe.  I added some rub-ons and stickers and one stamp to the left side of the bag.  And on Santa's hat I used Stickles for his holly.

Here's a closeup:

Thank you for stopping by today!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time my friends--Wrap it up! :)

Friday Favorites-Favorite Project to Make for Christmas

Hello Everybody!

Over at Scrap It Girl it is time to celebrate our Favorite Things.  Today we are celebrating our Favorite Projects to Make at Christmas.

I love to craft but just in the most recent years have I started making things for Christmas.  I used to have to work and travel and there just wasn't time for making Christmas things.  But now some of that has changed.

One of my most favorite things to make at Christmas time are Christmas Tags.  I make them for a friend of mine.  (She commented that she like some of my first Christmas Tags and I have been sending her some every year after that.) :)

Here are a couple from this year-which I totally love!

Here are some from last year.  (I love seeing these from yesteryear so I had to include them) :)

Graphic 45 embellishments

Gelli Print Tags

Hero Arts Snowmen

Rub-on stockings

Fancy die cut tag

Got this moose stamp from a thrift store.  It's Stampin Up.

Digital Echo Park Papers

Trying to finish using those rub-ons!

Because I love Beach Santa!  Close to my Heart stamps.

I love making tags for Christmas.  They are little pieces of art but if they get thrown out-it's not a big deal.  Tags can only stay around for so long.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to see what my teammates love to make at Christmas.  Until next time my friends-Happy Friday! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share with you my project today for the Great Impressions Blog!  They just released the December stamps-and these designs are so fun and festive-you will want to add them to your collection!  And just in time there is a sale going on through Monday-click here! :)

So here is my project.  It measures 6 inches tall-so it could be a Christmas ornament or a big Christmas tag.  And at Christmas sometimes you need a big Christmas tag!  I found this design on Pinterest and the original website and how to can be found here.  Because I used what materials I have on hand-scroll on down, and I will show you how I made this.

I used G512 Winter Snowflake for the center with gold embossing powder.

This old thesaurus is what I used for my cones.  My other books seem too "new."

These are chipboard circles for scrapbooking that I have had ffffooorrreeevvveeeerrrrrrr! So I decided one of these would be the base (instead of the star from the original website.)

Before I started to add cones, I stamped B171 To & From on the back with Ranger's Archival Ink.  The back of the chipboard was glossy.

So on the front I started to add my cones.  I used gloss gel medium for my adhesive for the cones and to adhere theme to the chipboard circle.

For the glitter I used a brushable glue and then drizzled gold glitter over the openings of the cones.

I had punched a hole in the base before I put any cones on so after the cones were glued down I tied on the ribbon.  I used redline tape for the embossed snowflake circle.

This was a lot of fun to create.  But those cones can get tricky!  Thank you for stopping by today!  Until next time my friends....have a great Black Friday! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn over at the Great Impressions Blog.  I was inspired by my teammate Kendra and had to use non-traditional colors for today's Christmas card.

I went outside my comfort zone for this.  I used papers from Stampin' UP and these awesome festive stamps from Great Impressions.

The stamps that I used are G446 Holiday Flamingos and D378 Merry Christmas Sparkles.  I used a hand held crinkler for the purple.  Down the left side is the Tim Holtz silver tinsel.  I used Blue Hawaiin Powder Puff ink by Quick Quotes for the sentiment.  Then I sponged the color the focal point and sentiment.

Be sure to check out our current challenge too!  And for some added inspiration be sure check out our Pintesert boards and Facebook.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Have a great day!

O Christmas Tree

Hello Everybody!

Today is my last post over at Unique Laser Designs Blog.  It has been a great experience and there is sooooo much talent over there!  If you have been-go check it out!  After you see my project first though ;)

I had these cute Christmas Tree from Tim Holtz:

So what to do? What to do?  I decided to decorate one!  I used water and distress ink mowed lawn blended together to spray the tree green.

Here is a closeup of the decorated tree.  I used a gold fiber as the garland.  And a felt pen to decorate the cork Christmas minis.  They are so cute!

Here's a picture of the completed tree.

This tree is only 6 inches tall and that's with the star.

For more details on this project be sure to go to the ULD Blog.  And if you want to do some shopping be sure to check out the many choices offered by the ULD store.  Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...stay crafty! :)
